Incredible place to visit! Beautiful and inspiring location
We stayed two nights and they never changed the towels for us plus the mattress in our room was a bit old! Everything else was great!

因为是Bawa设计的,还不错,有一个garden tour,泳池很棒。
设施不太行,卫生间比较简陋,第一个房间窗户关不上😭,虫子蚊子都能进来,从外面还能开窗。后来换了房间,还好一些。

Lovely accommodation and surrounds. The guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay particularly being fans of Geoffrey Bawa architecture.
The check-in process was not expedient. The guests were on a tour and the guide was paying with a Sri Lankan debit card which somehow caused an issue. Guests were left waiting while this issue was sorted out.

环境优美,是国宝设计师Bawa的庄园,设计处处有特色
房间有设计感、但卫浴设施很老旧了、淋浴下水很慢、莲蓬头生锈…

Lunuganga is a once in a lifetime experience and a true sanctury. The property's architecture and gardens surprise & delight at every turn. The rooms are private and grand in scale with light artistic touches. The staff are warm and attentive but also allow you space to wander and explore the gardens hidden treasures. I felt trully taken care of yet also perfectly independent - a real feat. This is what true luxury feels like.

Beautiful designed gardens and buildings. A clear labour of love from Bawa. Dinner and breakfast on the terrace were a highlight.

I felt it needed room service as an addition ….perhaps at this point they had limited staff

beautiful, historic place of unique importance
no one cares about it and the Teardrop management company who have taken it over have allowed it to fall into disarray.
our room was horrific. full of ants, cockroaches and mosquitoes, excrement all over the toilet (which we were told wasn’t cleaned because it was old), dirty floor and walls, everything in a state of disrepair.
the place is a historical monument which I first stayed in 16 years ago and has declined steeply since then.
if they don’t look after it then it will actually fall apart and it’s value to the history of architecture will be lost.
the Bawa foundation needs to take action about this.
we were given a 50% discount due to the photos we took but it’s not an issue of money, it’s about preserving the heritage of the place (or not).

The property is magical. It always was magical. However the management is terrible. I stayed there when it was run by the Bawa Trust at a fraction of the price and then the slow home like service was charming. However at the new rates I was expecting more polished and professional management.
Food, service and management.

The food was lovely and not huge quantities. The ambience was lovely and the staff promoted a relaxed but attentive air. The garden tour was very interesting and informative. I loved that there was marmite for breakfast too.
Nothing could have made it better

The garden, houses, nature, staffs, everything was so wonderful. And I liked the garden tour and boat tour too.
Nothing, just I should have prepared for mosquitoes.

Fantastic heritage property with gardens onto a peaceful lake. Wonderful staff who do their best to make your stay comfortable. The house is a bit of a Bawa museum with great atmosphere. Feels like a colonial homestay rather than a hotel.
We didn't get the room we booked for 4 nights even though the manager assured us that this was the only room available. We were instead put in a room which had full glass on both sides of the bed with curtains that didn't close. Every morning we had tourists visiting the gardens staring into our room. The manager was most unhelpful and rude. Apparently a more professional management team will take over in 2020.
