El Peregrino Apart Hotel

I thought the property was a very good value overall. The elevator was especially helpful with luggage, and the room felt more like a small apartment because it included a kitchen. I only stayed one night, so I didn’t use the kitchen, but it would be a great feature for a longer stay. The location was also convenient, and I was able to walk just a few blocks to an excellent cevichería. The breakfast buffet was pretty good as well. Overall, I found the property comfortable, practical, and a good value for the price.

The main issue was the lack of useful local information at the front desk. When I asked for a good restaurant, I was directed to one about a 15-minute taxi ride away, even though there were very good restaurants only a few blocks from the hotel. The road to the suggested restaurant was also affected by construction, which made the trip even more inconvenient. I also asked where I could find colectivos or shared autos going toward Nazca, but the front desk was unable to give me that information and instead suggested the bus station without knowing the schedule. My taxi driver, however, immediately knew where to take me for the transportation I had originally been asking about. For travelers unfamiliar with Abancay, it would be very helpful if the front desk were more knowledgeable about nearby restaurants and local transportation options.

Staff was nice at check in. Was nice to have a refrigerator.

Was very very dated inside. Not the cleanest. Hot water heater exhausted the gas fumes into the room; unsafe. About 1,000,000 roosters outside the bedroom window. Breakfast buffet was cold and not refreshed well; also had dinner and didn’t like the food.
