Stepped out of the airport at Sorong and there was Rina ready to pick us up and take us back to her house. She then cooked us a delicious nasi goreng, sorted a taxi to take us to the market to pick up supplies and stop at the telephone booth to get our Telkomsel sim sorted. Back to the house for a shower and comfortable, quiet, night, then the taxi appeared again in the morning to take us, after a tasty breakfast, to the ferry to Raja Ampat. Just the most brilliant welcome after several days of back-to-back planes and can’t thank her and her family enough for being so ready to help with anything. Can’t recommend her enough.

Simple but spotless, coffee, tea and water on tap, hot shower and the most accommodating landlady you could wish for. Headed back there on the return journey and it was a perfect repeat. She picked us up with the driver at the ferry port, looked after us royally and had us delivered to the airport for the return to the UK the next day. Can’t wait to go back…thank you and hope we meet again.

The place was basic, but Rina the hostess was a great example of warm Indonesian hospitality. She organised transport from ferry to homestay, and to the airport next morning, and made feel right at home at her place. The dinner she cooked for us the guests was delicious, as were homemade pastries for breakfast. For one night it was a perfect place to stay.

Nothing to dislike.

Simple, affordable homestay in Sorong owned by a beautiful family. Great for a stopover on way to or from Raja Ampat.

Mosquito nets in the rooms would be nice

Wonderful family, very warm and welcoming. Easy walk to water.

Mosquitoes, barebones room with no amenities. Ie. No top sheet or towels, trash bin. Just a bed and working AC.
