Die Unterkunft hat eine relativ schöne Aussicht und liegt auch gut. Die Küche hat alles was man braucht. Man kann rund ums Haus sitzen, was super ist beim Sonnen.
Wir waren zu 2 haben 2 Schlafzimmer gehabt, was war super!
Genügend Wolldecken vorhanden :)
Online stand 12 Uhr Check-out. Wir wurden gefragt (übers Handy) wann wir du Unterkunft verlassen möchten, wir sagten 12.45uhr. Als Antwort kommt 11 Uhr spätestens. Warum fragt man dann ???

We have spent 4 days here afer staying for three days in busy Funchal. The place is really special and a perfect spot for a hub to explore the northern part of the island. Very comfortable apartment with private free parking, located in a quiet area with beautiful Atlantic ocean view. Norbertos mother lives downstairs and is always there to help - if you like it she can offer you sweet homegrown bananas - perfect addition to breakfast's cereal. It takes only 5-8 minutes trip by car and you are in the center of Puerto da Cruz with always busy Pipa Restaurant and a few other good eating spots right at the seaside. Perfect location to visit Ponta de São Lourenço or Levada do Caldeirão Verde (both incredible and both apps. 20 minutes by car). There is a 4km trail of local Lavada 200 meters away form the appartment - very nice evening walk without any tourists around and if you like - you can continue walking until you reach Puerto da Cruz going down the other lavada (another 4km)

Great views. Very clean property with new bathrooms. Easy access to some Levada walks.
Communication with owner was poor and before arriving we did not know if we would be met by anyone. In fact we were greeted by the owner’s mother who was charming but did not speak any English. It would have been helpful to have an information folder with rules for departure / rubbish disposal etc.

I loved the view from the window, the location of the house, the room for my daughter with the toys, the kitchen was sufficiently equiped and it was nice that the land lady came to say hello event though she didnt speak English( we've managed🙂🙂)
Maybe it is just the personal taste but the bed was too hard for me. Also, if you do not like too many decorations in the dining room, you pass by quickly to the kitchen to admire the view from the window.
For any shopping you need to drive down to the main city as the house is on the hill( that is why the view is so awesome).

The views are beautiful, location is very close to some hikes and surf schools. Host was welcoming.
There was a strong smell of naphthalene (moth balls) in the house( particularly in the living room) when we arrived and it did not go away after airing the rooms. It was quite cold in the house, and the airconditioning did not help much. The hot water in the showers does not fully run, i think the hosts have a very old boiler that sometimes gives hot water and sometimes it does not. It takes a long time to have warm water and it runs for a few seconds and then cold again (we ended up heating the water on the stove:/). The internet is not stable enough for working, and if u have important meetings it's better to be prepared for the connection to drop( in the house there is a wifi repeater for the connection that is downstairs, i suppose). For streaming and browsing, the internet is decent. The mattress in the bedroom is very stiff. The lady that lives downstairs only speaks Spanish and Portuguese, not English as advertised.

The house is very authentic, has all the amenities you need, a great view and is located very close to hiking and surfing spots. Perfect for relaxing, reading and active leisure, we were able to wake up in peace every morning while hearing the birds and roosters.
Norberto and his family were friendly and kind. Also, we got a very warm welcome: fresh/organic fruits and herbs.
Don't waste your time finding anything else: best quality at best price! Looking forward to return next year.
