Mesendorf Gasthaus

Struttura molto bella , bagno molto carino

Colazione poverissima , niente di dolce , neanche una torta , il caffe’ andava pagato separatamente, tre euro un caffe’ … i beni di consumo nella struttura a pagamento esageratamente cari

The guesthouse has been renovated very tastefully and to a good standard. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathrooms clean. The setting is lovely and it's very quiet and peaceful. Breakfasts are pretty good, but more variety in cereals and toast/jam for those that don't always want to eat eggs, cheese and meat every morning would be nice.

We arrived about 5.30pm to find no reception or staff to greet us. We had to be checked in by the chef who hardly spoke English. The guesthouse is remote in the village with no other food options so they could take advantage and offer varied, affordable meals, but we were shocked to discover the evening buffet was 150 lei. This was very overpriced for what is on offer, which is limited. There was no price list, we had to ask for prices. We thought there would be information available on walks/cycling/info about the village and a basic details about the place but there's nothing except links to other websites on their the guesthouse website. No water glass provided in rooms. Handsoap was very watered down.

- really nice and peaceful place - excellent local food, both for dinner and breakfast - friendly and welcoming staff - there are plenty of lovely places around the property where you can relax and spend time, including the garden, library, terrace.

- the room was a little smaller than we would have liked - wi-fi coverage does not extend to all rooms/buildings, which can be quite inconvenient given the rather poor mobile phone coverage in the area - the village itself doesn't have much to offer, although of course this is not the property's fault

Great place! Absolutely private, very cosy, with all the amenitites, I highly recommend it!
