La posizione in pieno centro. In camera non mancava nulla, nemmeno la macchinetta per il caffé espresso . Il balconcino delizioso. Il tutto in stile un po’ vintage, con un certo fascino. Non adatto a chi predilige anonime strutture moderne ma senza anima.

Il proprietario sembra un po’ sempre in affanno per ricordarsi tutto. In realtà è stato il gestore piú disponibile e gentile che ho incontrato a Chania. Secondo me, questo suo modo un po’ arruffato nel gestire le cose ma autentico e schietto é ormai cosa rara…

I had a wonderful stay here. The location is right in the heart of the old town (which I highly recommend as an area; there isn’t much to do in the rest of the city). The rooms are old style, but they are very very clean. We had all the amenities available, including a hairdryer and air conditioning. If you have a rental car, “East Ditch Theater” is a large free parking area just a few minutes’ walk away.

On the positive side, Nicholas Rooms is located in the old centre of Chania which grants easy access to the port and its tavernas, taxis, bus stations and main objectives. The air-conditioning system was working properly. The weather was good overall, took the main excursions to Balos and Elafonisi.

*The main issue we had was with our host Nicholas. We are not the people to complain, and this is the first truly negative review I am about to post, but we encountered the boiler system for the first time in our lives, the water has to be heated up for 30 minutes before you can take a shower then hot water lasts for 10 to 11 minutes before it gets cold. It was enough for me, but for my girlfriend wasn't. So we called Nicholas and started to ask the logical questions about what we can do about the boiler, he said that the fuse (fuse box) must be off while taking the shower (but we suspect he said that to reduce the electricity bill). I explained that's not enough for my girlfriend who needs at least 20 minutes. Then Nicholas changed his tone and attitude and said that he can cancel our booking since he didn't withdraw the money yet (it was on first day). We couldn't find booking anywhere in Chania ( we tried at different hotels and apartments) and Mr. Nicholas probably knew that. That scared us and frankly ruined the start of our holiday in Chania. The room is time-worn, very old style. *Another issue was with the bathroom slime\grime, didn't look appealing at all. *Also, the pillowcase was torn and there was some dirt on my sheet. *And to conclude, the cleaning lady left us with insufficient toilet paper and we had to buy a few the following days.
