Entire Family Friendly House "Villa Archondisa" in the Old Town
Vivi come un locale in questa graziosa casa nel cuore di Chania. Con le sue pareti imbiancate a calce, le persiane azzurre e il balcone in ferro battuto, Archondisa si distingue dalla folla in quella che è già una pittoresca strada. Dal suo balcone affacciato sulla strada puoi vedere le folle animate che svolgono i loro affari. Oppure, se preferisci, dirigiti verso la terrazza panoramica della casa in stile veneziano, arredata semplicemente con lettini e un ombrellone. Lì sarai ricompensato con una vista a 270 gradi sul villaggio, sulle montagne e sul porto.
All'interno, il fascino di Archondisa continua con il suo mix di letti in stile antico, arredi tradizionali e mix di pavimenti in legno e marmo. Il piano terra comprende un soggiorno, un camino, un angolo cottura di base e un bagno con doccia. Ci sono scale ripide per la camera doppia di secondo livello, la camera matrimoniale al terzo piano e la terrazza sul tetto. Dal momento che la casa si trova nel cuore delle strade cosparse di piante di Chania, sono solo tre minuti a piedi dalle taverne locali. E la spiaggia e il porto, che è circondato da caffetterie e ristoranti, si trova a 15 minuti a piedi.

Great location within the Old Town Walls. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Went to nearby supermarket for breakfast supplis. Greeted by the host, given wine, water and a fruit bowl. Happily recommend

Our host met us at night after our very delayed arrival and led us personally up the street to our place where we found a full bowl of fresh fruit and a nice bottle of wine. He directed us to a grocery and gave a few recommendations for dining out. One evening we had a happy hour on the street with our friends and met friendly strangers there on the street. It is a FUN, central location in a cute Venetian architectural village. Thumbs Up!

We thought this place was adorable and it was very clean, which we appreciated. The location for convenience sake cannot be beat - so close to EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, being so close to everything means it was very difficult for all four of us to sleep. People walking on the streets below were so loud until about 11 at night that it sounded as though they were IN the apartment with us. There were cat fights either on the roofs or in the streets at night and those were loud too. Also, not in regards to location, but the floors creak so badly in both bedrooms that if any one of us got out of bed in the night to move around at all, it woke everyone else in the house up. There’s no way for the people staying on the 3rd floor bedroom (double bed) to go downstairs to the bathroom at night without creaking across the floors and walking through the 2nd story bedroom (thus waking everyone up). It’s unfortunate, because the house has a lot of charm and is very cute. Maybe if we had all had earplugs…
Also, the bathroom was a bit tricky. Very clean when we arrived, but the toilet seemed to leak a bit at the base and it was impossible to keep the shower water from leaking out, so the marble floor was wet and slick all the time.
The heat pump in the 2nd floor bedroom never seemed to work, so it got a bit chilly at night (we were in Chania the first week of May and the sun didn’t really come out).
Complimentary fruit and wine upon arrival were very nice!
