Hostal La Estación

El trato con el chico del hotel fue muy agradable.

Del desagüe de la ducha sale un olor horrible.

The accommodation was reasonable and cheap. From what we saw of the town, this Hostal is situated in the nicest street in Tarancón. The rest of the town is a dreary dormitory for people working in Madrid.

The town council's website gives a rather rosier view of the town than the reality. If I am generous, I would say that their claims for the town are a little exaggerated. If I am honest I would say they have a well overrated view of their what the town offers a tourist. We were unlucky to arrive the day after the town's Festa Major had finished. This was the cue for nearly all of the bars and restaurants to close and go on holiday. When we did eventually find one open, the barman asked us: "What on Earth are you doing here? Everyone who lives here would like to escape and you volunteered to come here?" I had chosen the town thanks to the Town Hall's painting it as a place of interest and as it was half way between where I had come from and where I intended to go the next day. However, I wish I had changed the route a little and stayed at the charming Cañete, which we had visited an hour or so before or else the amazing Aranjuez, which is just 38 minutes further on from Tarrancón.

Para pasar una noche, de paso.

Limpieza muy justa, baño pequeño. Estuvo toda la noche sonando una cisterna de otra habitación y aunque avise al teléfono de guardia nadie hizo nada durant la noche. A la mañana siguiente ya no sonaba.... Olor del baño
