Saqray Hostel

La posizione è strategica, poco lontano dalla zona dei locali notturni (così che si è potuto dormire bene di notte) e a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro. Lo staff che parla italiano è un upgrade non da poco! Ci hanno preparato il breakfast box quando è stato richiesto. La camera è stata pulita ed ordinata ogni due giorni. Servizio di lavanderia perfetto! Il bagno non è dotato di phon ma in reception ne hanno uno che imprestano.

Nulla in particolare, forse aggiungerei qualcosa alla colazione ma per il resto tutto a posto!

Good value for money, helpful staff and clean amenities

The breakfast is disappointing: only some fruits and bread and cereal. Other included breakfasts we had on our trip were full cooked meals. Although Saqray is very affordable, so it is not a big deal and is to be expected

Solid location just north of the main square, just a little uphill. Dorm bed had decent curtain and shelf space/small locker at the foot of the bed plus another full size locker in the room. They stored my bag for me while I was hiking Salkantay and their laundry service was convenient.

Breakfast was basic, but that’s on par with most hostels in Peru. The dorm shower drain was clogged so you end up showering in water up to your ankles. The bathroom floor itself was flooded one morning but I notified an employee and it was handled very quickly. Every tour company I booked for day trips that had hotel pickup included told me that Saqray was unavailable for pickup which was annoying since several tours drive directly by it. It’s wasn’t a big deal to walk down to the plaza instead but just something to be aware of as far as location goes.

The staff is very friendly and there is hot water and tea to the guests.

There was no hot water in the showers at all - and it was freezing in Cusco. The room was little dusty and I found a spider and a little cockroach in the room. The location is in the end of a long and high street, so it is kind of difficult to arrive there. Because of the lack of hot water, I cancelled the booking and went to another hotel.
