Beautiful restored chateau very tasteful and lovely pool

The property is a truly Chateau. The owner was really kind and offer assistance for the driving arrival and touristic attractions, every morning he is had small chat with all guest during the breakfast. The breakfast is an authentic french experience: croissants, boiled eggs, local cheese and fruits from the property garden. Very romantic location.
the access with the car is difficult because of the path from the garder.

Breakfast was good. The pool was beautiful and a good area to relax in. The gardens were interesting. Staff (in particular Ali) were vey helpful. The hotel was atmospheric and different.
We had a horrendous time trying to find the Chateau due to long standing and ongoing road works affecting the access. We were not informed of these in advance and it would have been helpful to have been provided with a detailed map with instructions in advance of our stay. The room was quirky, but access to the bedroom was via aa steep set of stairs which we found difficult to negotiate.

The grounds were lovely; glorious deciduous trees , swimming pool (not in operation in October), woodlands, a creek, hammocks and sitting areas scattered throughout. The chateau could be grand, and probably once was. The view from my room was pure serenity.
It was tired. The whole place needed a good clean, the room smelled musty, the king bed was uncomfortable as two singles had been pushed together and held with a sheet. The towels were almost threadbare and the carpet needed to be replaced. Breakfast was ample but definitely not gourmet. The location is great if you have a car but it is situated well out of town so you need to eat out every night.
