Had an amazing time at Royal Victoria in Tunis! The cool historic vibes, friendly staff, and being right by the Medina made it a memorable experience.

The Location of the hotel is superb! The moment you leave the hotel, you are entering the Medina. The hotel is amazing with a super beautiful interior, but some facilities are a bit old. The staff was very nice as everybody in Tunis!

The location is perfect. So easy to get a taxi or for someone to drop you off. 10 minutes to the main train station for south bound trains and not much further to the station for the trains going north. The breakfast has the best juices. Overall so good

Beautiful period place in the middle of Tunis. A little worn but great atmosphere and staff. Right at the start of the Medina.

Very special hotel with historic atmosphere right at the entrance of the medina. We stayed first night after arrival to Tunis and it was a great spot to explore the city.

Breakfast was too ethnic for us, but that’s not really a negative.

I loved this hotel. Like most people, I went for the ambience of the building itself plus the location, and that did not disappoint at all. Even in my small single room, everything was nice, there were outlets aplenty, and the bathroom was visually lovely (and worked great). The elevator was an old model that I had to remember to manually close the doors for, but also charming. Everything was clean. The location is amazing, as well. My flight to Tunis was pushed back a few days in advance and then my flight was delayed on the tarmac, so the 18-hour layover I'd planned was severely cut short, and I didn't check in until after the big sights were closed or close to. However, because the Royal Victoria is right off of the Medina, I was at least still about to walk just a few yards and visit the Medina (and shop!) before it became dark out. Finally, and most importantly, the staff at the Royal Victoria are wonderful. I was traveling on a long layover as a single female traveler and because of that the staff politely but consistently checked in on me when I was going out to shop or explore, and asked how I was whenever I came back. It was kindly meant and reassuring to me, because Tunis is not the safest place for people to visit, particularly lone travelers. I'm an experienced traveler and have been to places less safe than Tunis, but knowing that the hotel staff are looking out for you is a big plus. Plus, the morning breakfast was very good - I especially loved their traditional sweet pastries.

It's a small list unfortunately because the description it's looks an amazing hotel, but when you arrive it's very different. The architecture of the room is really beautiful, a lot of colour and Tunisian classic decoration, the style the doors and bed is very cute. Also the location that's very important for me made my expectations be fine here, the hotel is in the Medina and you don't need walk a lot to find Habib Bourguiba. A lot of police around, so you can fell safe during the time you are visiting Tunis. The cleaner professional cleaned well my room and changed bed linen and towel every day.

Unfortunately the hotel didn't demonstrate help in my needs, I requested a iron to use in my clothes and they requested money for service, so you need to pay if you need ironing your clothes, I was hosted in another hotel 3 stars, they gave me iron for free and I had no problem at all. also the reception staff during day looks very sarcastic and didn't pay attention in my needs. I complained about the air conditioner and they just came to my room to check and I still feeling hot, I was sweating a lot every day, the breakfast made me feeling very deception, little bit options and the ladies was tired suffering in this hot weather with no air conditioner on during the morning, I felt so sorry for them. If you hate noises I advice you stay in another hotel far away from the Medina because this hotel from 8am to 6pm you will suffer with noises around.

Great location very central and a lovely looking period building

We asked for a taxi to be booked but reception thought it a strange request as lots of taxis around. However ssid they would for 5am for trip to airport. Reception were however not aware of our request on the departure day and it meant trying to flag a taxi down in the dark which was not easy.

This is a fantastic hotel in a brilliant location, bang in the centre of old Tunis near a bustling medina. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are superb, breakfast fantastic.

Cannot think of anything we would change. The hotel and location were great.

The art deco and coloured tiles were beautiful. The reception staff were excellent.

It's a historic building and the decor is beautiful. The location is ideal, right by the medina and near taxis, restaurants and bars. The room was a good size and comfortable.

I was very happy with the service. The hotel staff helped me to organize travel to a different city. I forgot to ask a receipt for this travel and even way after my stay the staff still helped me to obtain the receipt.

The reception team, particularly Lotfi, were very well mannered, and paid attention to customers. The location of the hotel is ideal for touring the old city markets and the Zitouna area.

The hotel is relatively old and could do with a face lift, as well as improvements to its breakfast menu and services.
