We had originally booked the one bedroom with a sleeper couch in the living room. However, I was traveling with my adult son so this was not suitable (as the only bathroom was ensuite). The team moved us to the larger 2 bedroom house (and agreed to only charge the higher price for one of our two nights). I can honestly say that if anyone plans to open self catering accommodation they should visit The Old Rectory to use as a blueprint of how to design and furnish their accommodation. It was so beautifully designed, with simplicity and quality. I thoroughly recommend a stay in the 2-bedroom house. Additionally the owners were super interesting, helpful and friendly, without being at all invasive. Definitely the best place we’ve stayed.

If you are more than a couple (or perhaps a couple with only a young child) I would avoid the one bedroom cottages as they are small (but beautiful) and the toilet/bathroom, is only accessible through the bedroom so no privacy if people want separate accommodation areas.

Perfect size for our group, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed Marin and Harriet perfect hosts

No complaints at all

The remoteness of it. Family run, very friendly and helpful

Very lovely host. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome

The nooks and crannies of the cottage might need a thorough cleanse from time to time
