Hotel Spectra Sultanahmet

There's nothing that I didn't like. They were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Shout out to yasin who upgraded us to a room with a view at no extra cost. Made you feel like family.

Hotel Spectra is a charming and welcoming place in the heart of Sultanahmet. The location is exceptional — right next to the Hippodrome, with Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern only a few minutes’ walk away. It’s perfect for exploring Istanbul’s historical center without needing public transport. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Although not very large, they offer everything needed for a pleasant stay, including good beds, daily cleaning, and a quiet atmosphere despite the central area. The breakfast is simple but tasty, served in a cozy dining area with a lovely view over the square. Fresh bread, cheese, olives, eggs, and tea provide a good start to the day, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Overall, Hotel Spectra offers great value thanks to its unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and comfortable rooms — an excellent choice for a stay in Sultanahmet.

There was nothing to dislike. Everything was pleasant and well organized.

Yasin was very friendly and chirpy chap. Very understanding, helped us with bookings etc. Excellent location. Rooms cleaned throughly. Most friendly staff from cleaning lady to kitchen staff and reception. Very happy with Yasins service. Also upgraded our room we stayed three nights in economy room and then flew out to the south and then back again I asked if we could switch to the other side of the floor when we returned they said they had upgraded us for the night. This is the fourth time ive stayed at hotel spectra. Each time ive had outstanding service

The only superb thing about this hotel is its location and proximity to Sultanahmet and the Blue Mosque/ Aya Sofia area.

The hotel was undergoing major work outside on the pavement where it was all being dug up this blocked off entrance and exit to the hotel. The side walkway was equally being disrupted which made it a major health and safety issue for my aged family member. There was cement/ water all over the outside area of the hotel and the noise of drilling/ cement mixing was equally off putting. The room was fine but the bathrooms are incredibly small. To top off the two days we stayed, the fact is we had no access to any or stable wifi as the cables were also being dug. My point is clear- the hotel management were then duty bound to inform residents of this major disruption but failed to do so. Instead, the stay was not pleasurable as access to and from the hotel was a major obstacle. The owner was a lovely man who did apologise profusely but this didnt help our stay. Yasin and front desk was lovely but that is all. Even with the renovations done and wifi- I would only stay here for the location- the rest , relaxation and service is not part of this hotels management. I wont be staying at this place ever again.
