Pousada Fazenda Xaraés

Imagine yourself being totally disconnected from your normal everyday life and therefore being present in the moment in an environment in which you can have it all: adventura, quietness, being on your own or part of something bigger. How is that possible? You are experiencing farm life in the middle of the wetlands, if you want. You can go fishing, horseback riding, hike in search for the Jaguar, have Safari the Pantanal-way or simply hang out in one of the hammocks while watching the blue aras or dance around the fire in the evening under the stars. What you have to contribute is, to totally immerse into the setting and accept that you are there for the experience, not for the comfort. It is mainly a farm and not a 5* accommodation. That means accommodation is very simple but does its work (everyone tries their best). Still: after long days we seldom have slept better than there, and we are travelling all over the world. A learning for ourselves in that sense, too. That is also why it is important to mention the most important aspect of our stay: you can have a nice place and programme, but it all doesn’t work if you don’t have the right atmosphere. The „right atmosphere“ in this case is created by the people working and living there on an outstanding level. Special thanks to our guide Luiz, who made every wish possible, enriching us with his points of views, humour and fun literally every day. You made a significant difference- it was „muito tranquilo“ thanks to you. But also the rest of the team was great. Though we are atm travelling to other places we are still looking back and have memories in our minds and hearts, that will remain. Please be also very much aware of when you arrive: you are in the wetlands, there is no coverage and no real road, therefore little lakes and wilderness. Best you have a 4x4 AND someone who guides you from the main street to the farm. Other than that it will serve you a great adventure (which should not be underestimated).

We guess what most people will miss the most is the comfort. The (bath) rooms are very reduced and pragmatic. There is no spa and Michelin-restaurant around, you will need to bring special food if you need that upfront. We did not miss that, it is more for expectation management.

A pousada está localizada em uma região de exuberância do pantanal. Percorri diversos trechos alagados (a pé, a cavalo, de canoa e de barco). Pude ver inúmeros pássaros (o nascer do sol é imperdível). Os funcionários são muito simpáticos, com especial destaque para Fabiano (o guia que me acompanhou) e Daniel (responsável pela cozinha). A cama é confortável e o quarto muito espaçoso.

Das quatro noites que dormi na pousada, em duas faltou energia à noite. Não foi ligado o gerador (ao menos para funcionamento de ventiladores). Considerando a sensação térmica de mais de 30° C durante a madrugada, passei essas noites praticamente em claro. A pousada, que não cobra diárias baratas, deve investir e disponibilizar energia para uma noite confortável de sono aos hóspedes (soube que quedas da energia pública são comuns na região). Isso impactou fortemente minha experiência, pois não voltaria a me hospedar lá sem mudanças significativas neste aspecto.

Una experiencia extraordinaria en una verdadera Fazenda pantanera!! Inmersa en pleno pantanal sureño, rodeados de su típica fauna y vegetación. Salidas nocturnas y caminatas guiadas. Los animales salen a tu paso y te permite tomar excelentes fotografías. Muy buena comida y agua helada a disposición permanente. Las edificaciones y habitaciones te permiten sentir la atmósfera de una fazenda. Gran experiencia !

Le hace falta un poco de mantenimiento en algunos sectores. Más atención a la piscina. Routers que permitan la llegada de wifi a las habitaciones.

Vriendelijk personeel.

De kamer was niet zoals getoond wordt op Booking. De kamer heeft dringend onderhoud nodig en het zou fijn zijn mocht er ook meer verlichting in de kamer zijn. Heel het domein kan wel wat extra onderhoud gebruiken. Het eten was meestal ok, maar ook niet meer dan dat. De bazin verwelkomde ons niet echt zeer vriendelijk, maar zei onmiddellijk dat ze geen Engels kon. Er werd bij aankomst niets van uitleg gegeven, dus daar moest je zelf naar vragen. De tours kunnen als gemiddeld beoordeeld worden. Heel erg jammer want we keken hier echt naar uit. Je kon op het domein zelf gelukkig wel wat dieren spotten.
