Mit der Villa Paola als Ferienhaus waren wir sehr zufrieden. Das Haus ist sehr schön eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Der Garten um das Ferienhaus mit seinen Granitfelsen und der mediterranen Vegetation, der Ausblick von der Terrasse und die Lage lassen kaum Wünsche übrig. Da das Grundstück eingezäunt ist und keinen Pool hat konnten wir unser 3,5 Jahre und 1 Jahre altes Kind weitgehend unbeaufsichtigt spielen lassen. Das Klettern auf den Felsen hat unserem älteren besonders Spaß gemacht. Aufgrund der Berghanglage war es oft auch etwas angenehmer von den Temperaturen als unten im Ort. Einzig die Betten waren etwas hart und mit einem größeren Fahrzeug (Fiat Ducato) sollte man nicht durch das Tor ins Grundstück rein fahren, da man rückwärts bergauf wieder raus fahren muss. Man kann aber problemlos vor dem Tor auf der anderen Straßenseite parken. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter und die Betreuung vor Ort liefen reibungslos, die zuständigen Hausmeister sprechen sogar gut Deutsch. Direkt vor dem Haus beginnt ein Trampelpfad auf den Hausberg Monte Nai, ein kurzer aber lohnenswerter Aufstieg mit toller Aussicht auch ins Hinterland. Als lohnenswerter Ausflug möchte ich noch die MINERARIO DI MONTE NARBA nennen. Die ehemalige kleine Bergbausiedlung befindet sich südlich von San Vito (ca, 25min nördlich von Monte Nai), ist in den meisten Reiseführen nicht beschrieben, aber eine sehr fotogene verfallene Geisterstadt. Einfach mit dem Auto nach San Vito fahren, kurz vor der Brücke über den Fluß in San Vito dem Schild zur Minerario die monte Narba nach Süden folgen. Der anfangs geteerte Weg geht in eine Schotterpiste über. Man kann die Strecke aber gut mit einem normalen PKW fahren. Nach ca. 2,5 km über den Fluß fahren und man erreicht nach ca. 1,5km die Geisterstadt.

We had a fantastic time staying at Villa Paola just as the main summer season ended this year. The house is well cared for, fully equipped with everything you possibly need and tastefully decorated - a perfect home away from home. The view from the terrace is like nothing we have ever had in a holiday home before, truly stunning, and whilst the location is high up on monte nai you are down by the sea in little more than 5mins by car. As the property is safely fenced in, we had our 2.5 year old running around the house and gardens without having to worry. Down in Costa Rei and the surrounding villages you find plenty of well stocked supermarkets, bakeries, fruit/veg sellers and bakeries, so no need to venture further out south to Villasimius or north towards Muravera for supplies, unless you feel like. The area is so full of amazing beaches and landscape that you will be hard pressed to choose where to spend the day, we particularly enjoyed nearby Piscina Rei (great for swimming), and heading down south Cala Pira, Cala Sinzias and the famous beaches of Villasimius - all perfect for small children as well. Communication with the owner was fast and very pleasant, and Lidjia - the lovely lady looking after the house - was very helpful and caring.
