L'esperienza è stata fantastica: abbiamo raggiunto la struttura immersa tra le dune (6 cabine tendate + 1 grande sala da pranzo con vista deserto) con il cammello. Lo staff è gentilissimo e premuroso, non ti fa mancare nulla. Tutto è perfetto e molto organizzato. L'esperienza "musicale" attorno fuoco e sotto 1 stellata incredibile, è stata indimenticabile. Grazie a tutti e 1 speciale a Soufien l'anima di ogni cosa. Ci siamo sentiti a casa

I have visited the desert before (about 10 years ago) and this was a real upgrade from the type of camp I visited then. The tent was spacious and well decorated - with a double and single bed, chairs, hanging rail and bonus - A GAS HEATER!! This helped take the edge off the cold in the space. When we arrived it was actually raining in the desert (a rare occurence) - it kind of felt a privilege to be there to experience that. The staff were very friendly, warm and helpful. They easily catered for our vegan dietary requirements. I was also suprised to have a fully functioning bathroom. It felt like a luxury experience. We opted for 4x4 transfer (additional cost) as we did not want to ride camels. The staff also arranged for us to do a quad bike experience which was fantastic - a highlight of the trip.

Whilst it was novel to experience rain in the desert, I feel this caused a big delay in our transfer - but the communication around this was not great and disappointing. We ended up sat in the car park in the compound for over an hour waiting (not knowing what was going on). Also compared to when I visited 10 years ago I was shocked by how many camps there are now and they are all quite close together.

Campo tendato ben organizzato, posizionato; appena arrivati al RIAD di ritrovo Merzouga abbiamo lasciato l'auto e ci siamo avviati verso il deserto con il cammello; eravamo un sei con una guida, nel silenzio, e nella passeggiata di circa tre ore abbiamo avuto modi di fermarci nel deserto a lungo e di vedere il tramonto - un'esperienza unica. La sera siamo arrivati al campo, che si trova dalla parte opposta del deserto rispetto a Merzouga. La tenda era grandissima, pulita ed accogliente, con un ampio bagno con doccia. Cena squisita e personale molto gentile. Abbiamo passato la serata a ritmo di musica davanti al falò. Al mattino abbiamo raggiunto le dune che sono proprio a ridosso dal campo tendato per vedere l'alba. Colazione altrettanto buona e poi il ritorno in 4x4 al RIAD. Tutto perfetto direi, davvero una bella esperienza. Se ci fossimo potuti fermare un altro po' avremmo senz'altro provato i Quad.

Mentre nella sala da pranzo ci sono le stufe, in tenda non c'è riscaldamento e faceva abbastanza freddo, ma si sapeva visto che era gennaio. In ogni caso i letti sono ben forniti di coperte e abbiamo dormito al caldo.

We booked Desert Heart Luxury Camp for our Moroccan desert experience because their tents were a bit more isolated, had fewer tents than the others, and many excellent reviews. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. The ride into the desert on the camels was fun and the sunset over the dunes amazing! It did take longer to get to this camp, however, so our arrival well past the normal dinner hour was a problem. The dinner, while edible, was tasteless and served lukewarm, as were the drinks. We were not told that alcohol wasn’t available so we did not think to bring our own. Fortunately, with much difficulty in communicating with non-English speaking staff, a bottle of red wine was found to help us relax after a long day driving from Fes and the lengthy camel trek. Thank you to the helpful staff! After dinner and also after 10 pm, the musical entertainment began, right beside our tent. The music quieted somewhat after 11, allowing us to sleep. We had planned (and paid for) a second night in order to enjoy the peace and quiet of the desert, but after being informed that there were no cold drinks or lunch available without taking one of their noisy, group excursions via vehicles, we chose to forfeit the night and move on to our next destination. It’s unfortunate that the information about the camp was not made clear to us at the time of booking and that there was no offer of a refund as a result of their misinformation. We would not recommend Desert Heart as a result.

Poor communication. No refrigeration for cold drinks. Pushed the tours. Not what we came for.
