Montegonfoli Six

Perched on the highest hills, this peaceful haven overlooks an enchanting panorama: the soft waves of the Tuscan and Chianti hills unfold all around, with the iconic towers of nearby San Gimignano rising on the horizon. On clear days, the distant Apuan Alps appear, birthplace of the famed Carrara marble.

Each sunrise offers a different spectacle, often accompanied by hot air balloons gliding silently across the sky, while sunsets ignite the landscape in a symphony of light and color. Montegonfoli invites you to slow down, to hear the wind whispering through the olive trees, to breathe in the scent of wildflowers, and to be gently surprised by the quiet beauty of the Tuscan countryside.

The "Montegonfoli 6" apartment is a cozy nest, ideal for families, 2 couples, or friends seeking peace and inspiration. It features two bedrooms, each one with a comfortable queen bed (160x190 cm), and and independent “en suite” bathroom, for total privacy even for couples who will share this apartment. Each bathroom is complete, with a shower and bidet. The two bedrooms are split by a comfortable living room, featured by a huge fireplace, where our old farmer used to sleep on a Fiat 500 seat, and a kitchenette, with large fridge, a four fires stove and basic tools (pots, pans, kettle) to cook any basic foods of Italian cuisine. The dining table for six allows to eat comfortably, and additional tables in the garden allows to live and eat outside, under the sun or shade, according the season and guest needs.

The Montegonfoli estate, with roots dating back to the 17th century, stretches across more than 1,000 olive trees, vineyards producing Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi, golden fields, and a hidden forest with a small stream. Wander along the trails through oaks and cypresses, watch horses grazing in the nearby paddocks, or simply sit in stillness, letting your gaze roam across the endless view.

During the warm season, guests can relax by the panoramic pool, surrounded by greenery and birdsong. Free WiFi (100/40 Mbps) ensures a stable connection, even for those working remotely in a setting full of inspiration. A shared barbecue is also available for convivial evenings under the stars. A free shared laundry, equipped with washing machine, ironing tools and hanging area, allows to wash and dry clothes in a social and light way.

Just minutes away, you’ll find San Gimignano, art, museums, local shops, traditional restaurants, while the close town of Poggibonsi offers modern conveniences and supermarkets. Thanks to its central location, Montegonfoli is the perfect base for exploring Tuscany: Siena, Florence, Volterra, Chianti, Val d'Orcia, and even the Cinque Terre are all within easy reach. If you wish to eat or drink good wine outside without driving, there are some options in walking distance: there is a famous restaurant in 600m (lunch a dinner) and a wine/food tasting shop for brunch, lunch and early dinner (open 11-19h).

Most guests arrive here by car, we have a free parking, but it is possible to arrive here by public transportation too: the bus stop is just outside our short dirt road, but there are few daily runs and no buses on Sundays, so a taxi from the station (12Km, 7 miles) could be required.
