Al Koot Heritage Hotel

The hotel is located in a beautiful, historic building with unique and characteristic interior decor. The room itself was very spacious. The location is good, Ibrahim Palace, some fancy restaurants and Qaisaria souq are all in walking distance.

My room faced the street, and the non-stop traffic noise made it impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, there was a deafening, continuous rumble from the rooftop air conditioning unit right above me. The combination of these noises kept me awake all night. Furthermore, the maintenance of the room is severely lacking. The carpet was absolutely filthy and disgusting to the point of being nauseating. The Wi-Fi was also slow and barely usable. Given all these major issues, this stay was definitely not worth the premium price I paid.

The location and the authenticity of the hotel were really nice.

The service was not at the expected level. Personnel were apathetic and not really welcoming. You have to request for room cleaning. At check out, the hotel check your room to see if everything is in good order?!!

Location

Over priced

Beautiful room, lots of cool decoration plus a very comfortable bed. Awesome hot shower. Overall a cool, quirky property housing some collectible items of the owner.

No breakfast included despite expensive room prices. Lots of staff just standing or sitting around in the restaurant on their phones which was a little unprofessional. I sat down in the restaurant to have breakfast one morning (I was the only person) and nobody was paying attention to serve me despite there being so many staff. Very weird interaction at the end of the stay where the receptionist wasn't available upon checkout so I left my room key on the desk, then she suddenly came out of the back office and said I could not leave until they checked the room (check for what?!), no 'hello' no 'good morning' just a direct demand. My taxi had already arrived so I left anyway; it all felt a little distasteful. I think hospitality training is very much needed for the staff.
