Small house with large garden, view of Como Lake 'Sans Souci'
Incantevole casetta con ampia vista sul lago di Como. Immersa nel verde, incredibilmente tranquilla, ideale per staccare dalla routine quotidiana. Inoltre offre molte opprtunità per passeggiate a piedi nei borghi lacustri o in località di montagna adatte a tutte le età. Ci sono diverse possibilità per passeggiate in biciletta, oppure in battello con visite alle belle ville del lago e bagni nel lago. Ma anche affitto barche e molte possibilità di degustazione delle specialità gastronomiche locali. Per essere visitata e conosciuta questa grande varietà di opportunità richiede almeno una settimana di tempo. Carate Urio dista 10 minuti a da Como e 40 min. da Milano dove si possono visitare innumerevoli musei e monumenti, nonché fare shopping nella capitale del Fashion italiano.

We initially chose Carate Urio b/c of its location midway between Como and Lenno, which were the venues for a weekend wedding celebration we attended. As it turned out, staying at Sans Souci was itself a highlight of our 7-day stay. Both the dining/living area and the spacious bedroom downstairs offered lovely views across the lake. And since our hosts themselves live in the small house during the winter months, the place is fully furnished with appliances, comfortable chairs inside and out, and a wall full of books in multiple languages. Brunella and Giovanni were most helpful in mapping out routes to drive and suggesting restaurants, museums and villas to visit in the area. Despite the 30 or so steps required to reach the house from the designated parking lot down the hill, we 70-year-olds felt like youngsters coming and going to the local lakefront! A marvelous way to experience Lake Como, with gracious hosts who respected our privacy while always being available to answer any questions. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house with the most amazing views of the lake. Comfortable and tastefully furnished, with access to all amenities. The owners live at the top of the garden and are on hand for any needs, at the same time you have privacy. Brunella was so helpful, communicating before we arrived and giving us important information. Later giving us tips on all the things to do in the area and where to eat. She could not have been kinder or more helpful. She even reserved a table for us at a local restaurant the first night we arrived, and provided us with coffee when we forgot to buy some and there was cake in the fridge for our breakfast! I really have nothing bad to say about this. Would have loved to stay longer.

We enjoyed the coziness of the bright house with a lot of comfort, the beautiful garden and the beautiful view. the hospitable welcome by Brunella and Giovanni and very helpful personal tips to explore the area. A place where we would like to come back again!

We spent a marvellous time in this pretty house of Brunella and Giovanni. Everything was so fine. The house is even better than the photos . The view from the left and the right terrace is really fantastic.
Brunella and Giovanni are the kindest we ever met.
