We spent 3 days in Painswick at the Tibbiwell Lodge and were very happy with our choice. The owner was onsite, very friendly and welcoming. He has been hosting this lodge for 26 years and rightfully proud of his establishment. The lodge itself is well located in Painswick and multiple trails nearby—our reason for visiting. The town is so picturesque and it was fun to explore the area and return to a quiet house at the end of the day. If we were to return to Painswick, we’d certainly return to Tibbiwell Lodge.

Understand it’s a small establishment with only a few rooms and is an older structure but well cared for and clean.

I really enjoyed my vegan breakfast. Richard is very friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. The location is truly magnificent, and the locals are very friendly and helpful. Also, it was lovely to hear the church bells.

Walking up the hill. But, to be fair, it was during a heatwave.

Nice location in the beautiful village of Painswick. Bedroom was a good good size, as was the en suite My room had a terrace with a table and four chairs overlooking the valley, there was also a communal terrace with view accessed from the garden

It’s a very basic bed and breakfast. You need to know what you’d like for breakfast as soon as you walk through the door and before you see your room. Very creased un ironed duvet cover on the bed, and thick dust you can write your name in on the dressers in the dining room. Owner does not seem to have a mobile ( or doesn’t provide you with the number) so I’m not sure what happens in an emergency.
