The host, David and his wife are amazing. They are honest and not greedily/viciously rip-off money-minded (an extremely rare quality in the hospitality industry in Egypt). David personally took me on an air-conditioned tour, organised one for me to Abu Simbel and another all the way to Luxor via Kom Ombo and Edfu -- all of which were outstanding at very reasonable prices. We had long chats about Egypt and the state of the world. Absolutely fabulous experience.
The room, balcony and kitchen could have been significantly cleaner and the kitchen slightly better stocked with utensils and salt.

Excellent hostel, friendly staff. You cannot beat the value! Having your own private room with AC and breakfast at this price is phenomenal. This is not a social hostel... Think of it more as a homestay. If you read the policies beforehand so you know what to expect, you will be happy 😊
The location was great for me, especially being that I like walking. But if you'd like to be in the heart of the touristy areas, this is not the stay for you. Quick taxi or about 45 minute walk and you're by the major archeology sites.

The host was amazing and brought great refreshing, direction for my trip. He also had the best advice for a budget friendly cruise. For budget travellers this is excellent.
