This is my first visit to Funchal, and staying here was perfect. The space is well laid out, the balcony offers one of the best views of the harbor, and Lina and her husband are perfect hosts. I spent mornings practicing yoga on the balcony and evenings watching the sunset over the fortress. My husband and I did have to do some work during our stay 🙁 I can’t complain since we were able to go for a swim or just chill out on the balcony inbetween conference calls. We hope to come back again soon ☺️ Look no further if you are also looking for a relaxing place to escape to for a week or a month.

Gute Lage, sauber, gute Ausstattung, schöne Aussicht, mehr benötigt man für den Urlaub nicht! Die Kommunikation mit Lina war wunderbar, alles unproblematisch und toll.

We had two very good weeks in this apartment with a balcony overlooking the fort, sea and the cruiseships coming and going. We had a very warm welcome from the host. The apartment was clean, beds had good madresses and was fully equipped with all we could need and more. We give this apartment our best recommondations.

Tolle Lage des Appartments: In der Altstadt gelegen, d. h. zentral, aber in einiger Entfernung zum Trubel; Bushaltestellen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants etc. sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Der Blick vom Balkon auf den Atlantik ist einfach schön, man kann dort wunderbar entspannen, auch am Abend wenn Piano-Musik aus der St. Tiago-Festung herüberklingt oder am Morgen den Sonnenaufgang erleben. Das Apartment selbst ist liebevoll eingerichtet, wir haben uns dort sofort wohl gefühlt. Der Empfang war sehr gastfreundlich, mit frischem Obst usw. Wenn wir wieder nach Madeira kommen, dann sehr gerne wieder in dieses Apartment! Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt dort!

Die Wohnung liegt in einem kleinen, gepflegten Haus in der Altstadt, ist sehr geschmackvoll in schönen Farben eingerichtet und mit allem Notwendigen und Nützlichen prima ausgestattet. Von der großen Terrasse, die wie die Wohnung sehr ansprechend gestaltet und möbliert ist, hatten wir einen phantastischen Blick auf das alte Fort, das Meer, den Hafen und die Bucht von Funchal. Zu all dem trafen wir mit Lina und ihrem Mann auf sehr sympathische und hilfsbereite Vermieter, die uns noch dazu mit einer großen Obstschale und Getränken empfingen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Hier stimmte einfach alles! Muito obrigada, Lina!

Location Location Location- I don´t want to sell this apartment, but I would buy it if I could :-) We loved every moment - due to the wonderful balcony overlooking the sea. We spent every possible moment outside on this wonderful balcony and enjoyed being in Madeira. The apartment provides everything that you need and is perfectly clean. Lina is a darling and welcomed us with a beautiful basket full of fresh fruits, bred etc. Would come back in a heartbeat - muito Obrigado to Lina and all the wonderful people in Madeira.

This was our third visit to Madeira and the best so far. This was partly because the apartment we stayed in was ideal for us. It was well-designed and decorated, very well equipped, with a beautiful balcony and a stunning view over the São Tiago fort, the sea beyond, and across to the cruise ship harbour. The location at the end of the old town was perfect with a large number (and, to some extent, variety) of restaurants close by and only a short, mainly flat, walk to the cable car station and to the centre of Funchal. The early part of our week was overcast and cool, but we didn’t mind because we found plenty to do, and the apartment was always nice to come “home” to. Later in the week, we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the hot sun watching the passing people and boats. Lina the property owner, and her husband, are very nice people, and were responsive to enquiries and messages via the HomeAway App, throughout the booking process and stay. She met us upon arrival, and we appreciated a number of nice touches to welcome us. We had a very minor issue early on which was speedily resolved; it seemed nothing would be too much trouble. The only slight downside to our stay was that as a “young” (but actually middle-aged) couple we did not find anywhere to go for a drink with any life in it after about 11pm. Perhaps this was because of the time of year. But we enjoyed looking at the night-time view of sea and stars from the balcony instead. Highly recommended, and we will go again. Our thanks to the thoughtful owner.

The apartment is absolutely perfect and very well equipped. The balcony is large with very comfortable seating, table and chairs and the view is fabulous. Breakfast on the balcony watching the cruise ships arrive was interesting and departing in the evening with our G & T was memorable. Within a two minute walk are many restaurants, most of them busy although January is a quiet time for them. A small supermarket is a five minute walk away, with a larger one ten minutes away. The main supermarkets in town are only a quarter of an hours walk, as are the main shopping streets of Funchal. The owner of the apartment, Lina, was delightful and there was fruit and pastries waiting for us when we arrived. Lina was very helpful, particularly when we had a medical issue and needed to see a doctor. She contacted her own doctor and we received advice from him, via Lina. The apartment was immaculately clean and very well presented. The firm kingsize bed was really comfortable. For those visitors wishing to cater for themselves there is a well equipped kitchen with everything you are likely to need. We will certainly return!

We had an amazing time at the seaview apartment. The apartment was great and the view even better. Lina was a brilliant host, would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location in the old town. Close to restaurants, shops and attractions plus a nice prom to walk along if you don't want to venture too far. Wonderful view from balcony, so nice to sit and watch the world go by after a day out. The sun is on the balcony from about 10.30 until sundown.The apartment was scrupulously clean and welcoming and had everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Lina for making our holiday your beautiful island so enjoyable.

Our stay in Funchal was great. Lina was super helpful and accommodating. We got delayed with our luggage at the airport and she had no problem meeting us later than expected to give us the keys, detailed recommendations in the area, and even had a fresh bowl of local fruits waiting for us!! The location was perfect right in the midst of delicious restaurants, bars, the tram and bus station. The sea views were also incredible. The balcony had a breakfast table, comfy chairs and candles- a romantic setting for any time of the day or night. Very clean, quaint apartment with good wifi and washer to fit all of our needs.

Very impressed with the friendly service and great apartment - with the most wonderful view! The apartment is very well equipped and maintained to a very high standard - thank you for a great holiday - we'll be back!

We had a lovely christmas at the apartment and in Madeira. I don't think we could have picked a better location. A fantastic view from the balcony watching all the cruise ships come and go. Lina was very helpful and friendly and everything was very comfortable. If you are thinking of booking, just do it, as its a really special place. Funchal is magical at christmas time with all the local celebrations and twinkling lights. We had a lovely stay - Obrigado!

What a wounderful place in the beautiful city We arrived rather late in the evening at the airport, got our car and then were already awaited by Lina at the appartment with keys, a tour through the place and directions to park our car (3 min walk an 3€ per day). Top notch at being a host! Cot for the baby was already set up, highchair in the kitchen, we even got a baby-carry-backpack and, as we had one day of rain coming ahead, found an umbrella next morning leaning at the front door. Perfect place to stay for a family vacation. The appartment is situated right behind the "yellow-fort" at the waterfront, that we even saw on a couple of postcards. Perfect view of the endless ocean from the balcony. Just sitting outside in the evening and watching the hughe cruise ships leave the island again, while we were able to stay! 2 min walk to the waterfront, 3 min to the next bakery and nearby to all tourist attractions. Been there one and a half week and we would have loved to stay even longer. Thanks again!
