After a very warm welcome we were very happy to find this clean, neat and cosy cottage where we felt immediately at home. The cottage was well equipped. The location on the island was unique with view on the sea and access to the beach. We are grateful for this extraordinary experience,

We loved this property with views of the sea to wake up to and the beach a stone throw's away-mostly deserted in June. The night skies were amazing too. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds with seats to sit outside. Orange tipped butterflies danced at our feet and we saw Hummingbird moths. The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need and Gill and Nigel are very friendly and helpful. St Anne's is about 3 miles away but taxi's anywhere are £5 and are very efficient-we used A1 Taxi's when we didn't want to walk. The island is a paradise for nature lovers with Alderney Wildlife Trust trips available to see bats, blonde hedgehogs, puffins and "Gannet Rock". Volunteers spend a year on the island doing work for the Trust which we were very impressed with. There are lots of places to eat out in Bray and St Anne's-all the meals we had were very good. We highly recommend this property and island if you just want to get away fromm it all and take a step back in time-no one locks their doors on the island!

We had a great week - partly because the weather was so good. The owners were very helpful and we were able to enjoy the property to the full. We alternated between eating in and going out to a restaurant so made good use of the cooking facilities. One of the major benefits was the close location to the excellent beaches at the east end of the island (which were mostly deserted). We managed to swim most days. We also enjoyed walking around the coastal path. We probably ‘overdid’ the slightly long walk into town and maybe should have made more use of taxis or perhaps bikes. On several nights the sky and stars were amazing. So to summarise - a really enjoyable holiday at a great location on a lovely island where everyone is so welcoming and friendly.
