Novità per il 2017: tutti i tappeti / tappeti sono stati puliti, le piastrelle del pavimento sono state rimosse e rifinite, la maggior parte delle aree è stata riverniciata, alcuni mobili sono stati aggiornati, i termostati intelligenti tado sono stati installati.

The cottage as great as ever. However the cleaners need sorting as certain aspects of the cottage didn't look like it had been touched. Cobwebs in the kitchen and lounge didn't look like the floor had been mopped either.
It won't stop us coming back but in my opinion the cleanliness needs sorting.

The Granary Cottage has everything you need, fantastic area very easy reach to other parts of the lakes. Cottage very cosy and comfortable, would definitely go back and recommend. The only thing that let it down were the cleaners.

Rather than write a review I'd rather talk to someone. On arrival the place hadn't been cleaned. I made contact with owner and he agreed to reimburse day 1.
A week has passed and he is not responding to my requests for this reimbursement.

The house is very comfortably furnished and there is everything you need. We have only missed a path for the dog walk, which does not lead along the road first.

Great location and very comfortable accommodation. Some minor maintenance issues but, overall, a lovely place to stay and explore the Lake District.

We had a great stay in March, it is very well equipped and ideal for a stay with dogs as so many great walks. We had a fantastic lunch at the Drunken Duck but not so good meal at the Outgate Inn.

We had a fantastic long weekend at the cottage. We were delighted with the place when we got there and enjoyed everything about it. Can't recommend it enough.

We enjoyed our stay at the property though we had some issues when we checked out, the cleaners came early and tried to make us check out at 10am though the booking confirmation clearly said the check out time is 11am, which was a bit annoying to be honest. Then, this accommodation claims they are dog-friendly and we paid extra for our dog to be there but it turned out we were not supposed to take our dog for walks in the garden (?). Another suggestion would be to provide more toilet rolls, probably you would agree that 2 toilet rolls for 4 people who are staying for 4 days might seem a bit mean for some.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet area. Very clean and comfortable. Everything you will need for a great stay. The living room and kitchen are upstairs and the bathroom and bedrooms are downstairs. There is an area outside at the back with garden furniture. We did have a bit of a problem with the heating it wasn't easy to get all the radiators on. They have wireless thermostats and didn't always work well. I would recommend this propery it is between Ambleside and Hawkshead. The Outgate pub was great. Friendly staff and good food.

The property was very clean and well appointed, everything you would need is catered for..
The Outgate inn about ten minutes walk away , dog friendly and very friendly staff.
Sunday lunch we had was fantastic and the evening meal we had same quality.
It is placed in the heart of the lakes so plenty of great walks and great scenery .

Lovely home in a gorgeous location
After an initial hiccup where the property was not ckean on arrival (which was rectified) we had a lovely stay in a pleasant and well equipped cottage in a beautiful but handy location.

Beautiful place
A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very clean and comfortable, the only issue was the radiator in the double bedroom didn't work (thermostat control said low battery and wouldn't turn on) and it was a cold room, otherwise a perfect place and excellent access to the surrounding villages.

Can't wait to go back in January
Yet again a brilliant stay at the Granary. I'm running out of superlatives to use to describe how good the cottage is. This is the 4th or 5th time we've stayed there and we're back again in January. It's location is perfect for us as we love the Langdale Valley area. January can't come soon enough.

Spotlessly clean (the washing machine had even been put on a wash cycle when we arrived) and a very well equipped kitchen you couldn’t choose anywhere better to stay. Lovely and warm cottage with a delightful courtyard garden and walks in every direction from the doorstep. A extremely comfortable double bed, great pillows and a good selection of glasses (very important to us!) and a very good power shower. This was our second visit to The Granary and we will definitely be back!

We had a good firstcweek then the storm hit so 8 days with no power no heating and no lighting. Eventually restored heating maintenance by the owner whi h was needed A good Christmas and New Year a luxury hamper from the owner all I all a great happy stay.

The Granary is a great property in an amazing location, so close to all the main places. Most comfortable matress in a holiday rental that I've ever experienced. Very well stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Just a fantastic stay and will definitely be back.

Great location for a Lakes getaway
Well equipped and clean cottage, located north of Hawkshead for excellent access to the south Lakes. Cottage is warm and cosy with private parking and home comforts. Have visited before and will stay again.

Location is great as well
However we do think that the hosts need to consider changing their cleaner as the were one or two areas having cobwebs and spiders . Particularly on the kitchen ceiling. Aand in the hallway .

Thick dust behind beds, crumbs in a drawer of kitchen and I had to wipe kitchen doors on arrival as hadn't been done - some sticky splashes (or something) on one door. Shouldn't have been missed by cleaner. Shower head was cracked on arrival but worked OK. Tap in kitchen dripped constantly. All easy fixes and if a bit of TLC given to those things, would recommend. Good spot for a south lakes base. No basics of dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid or soap to get you started which seems pretty standard elsewhere so take your own. Otherwise it was a lovely place. I did text owner but no reply so putting review here as hopefully an easy fix

Could be a great place to stay
This property has so much going for it. Lots of space, super practical, well equipped kitchen, laundry room, lots of hot water etc etc. It is an easy, well located base for the Lakes. Unfortunately it wasn’t well cleaned at all. Finger prints, smudges on glass, mirrors, table tops, tv. Dishwasher running, tap dripping, cob webs… just not clean which is such a shame. Not for us I’m afraid.

Third trip to The Granary
Lovely property in superb area. Very quiet. Well equipped kitchen. Good sized bedrooms and bathroom. For evening meals it is 10 mins walk to The Outgate pub and 20 mins to the pubs in Hawkshead. Will definitely return.

This is the third time we've stayed at the Granary and it doesn't disappoint. It has everything we need and is in a great location. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place for you.
