Nothing not to like

Location was good for where we needed. The pub opposite was fantastic, meal in there was exceptional. Good variety, and value with very friendly staff.

On arrival we had to squeeze our car at the end of parking bays alongside a mobile food trailer. Not the owners fault, other inconsiderate parking. Entry all as described, easy. Went up the stairs to our room, was very disappointed as extremely low ceilings. My husband is 6ft3, so hunched up the whole time and lost count how many times he hit his head. Broken panel on bath, back of toilet seat broken.(breeding place for germs). Towels were ok, but bath mat was all frayed around the edges and looked as if it had seen better days. Lovely young lady served us at breakfast, which there was a good range. Requested scrambled egg, which was obviously cooked in same pan as bacon so all brown. 😒. Email day before arrival offering croissants was a nice touch On departure, there was a lady sitting by front desk, who did not even acknowledge us with a goodbye, too busy talking to another guest, On the whole average, expensive for what it was. If considering booking, check room first if tall as it was not mentioned anywhere when booking about extremely low ceilings, but not all rooms have low ceilings .
