This property is everything that was advertised. The views were great and just a short walk to a private beach. The interior was clean and neat with a cute beach theme throughout. The bad: Honestly there are only three knocks on this unit. #1: the ceilings in this unit need to be replaced. There was water marks in almost each room, but especially in the second bedroom. I even had water drip on my arm at one point. For the location and cost of unit I wouldn’t expect to see that. #3: The patio pavers are not secured, and falling off. Easily someone could twist an ankle. Again for location and cost of unit I expected better.
#2: Lack of beach gear for use of renters. Maybe I have been spoiled by other units, but there was only one beach chair. Now there are plenty on beach located on property, just none for us to use when we went elsewhere.
The good: #1: Location, location, location! We loved being just south of the busy area, but close enough to use trolley. Traffic is an issue in this area (45 minutes to go 10) but St. Armand’s was close by, and Sarasota.
#2: the unit is so close to the beach, has views of stunning sunsets from patio
#3: the beach is gorgeous, not busy and a shell collectors heaven.
#4: Sand Cay is a beautiful complex, with pool, tennis courts, and Shuffle board. The ladies in the office were awesome with local recommendations for good and kayaking.

We were staying in Long Boat Key for a family wedding and rented this condo which was right next door to the reception. Very nice condo with all the accommodations of being at home. If I were ever to go back I would definitely rent this place again.

Communication before arriving was excellent. Condo was perfect, clean & had everything we needed. Proximity to beach was great & chairs on beach were a bonus! Neighborhood is quiet with lots of nearby local restaurants.

Sand Cay Resort is a very clean and friendly place to stay. We stayed in Unit 102 and loved being on 1st Floor, beach side. Our condo was so clean and we loved the beach decor. Perfect for four adults. We cooked and watched movies a few nights. We would definitely return.

Unfortunately red tide sort of spoiled the vacation but we tried to make the most of it. The unit was clean but I would suggest some spot cleaning on carpet/sofa. The unit is gulf front as advertised but has some serious problems. I was killing bugs from literally within 2 minutes of entering the property to the time we left. The management said we should have said something earlier but the office closes at 4:00. We got there just before it closed. This should have been addressed before we even got there. The king bed was very used and was like sleeping in a hammock. We had to put a big pillow between us to keep from constantly rolling into each other. The sectional couch in the TV area had stains all over it and had a bad odor. We left very tired and beat up after two nights. I did get a refund for the third night but felt a full refund was in order. Nothing like going home from a beach weekend and needing a couple of days to recover. I had another reservation for a different unit at Sand Cay for November but cancelled it to avoid another wasted trip. I didn't want to leave such a bad review but it is all true and I received a second request to review the place. For paying a premium price I would expect better. I will probably be looking at other locations than LBK for future beach stays.

It’s a wonderful facility and Unit 102 is our personal favorite - so comfortable, close to the beach and pool, great views and tastefully decorated. Bathrooms are decent but need updates. Kitchen is really nice but could use a cleaning. Bedrooms are comfortable but carpets and walls need cleaning. Storage room has washer and dryer with beach toys, puzzles, fishing poles, umbrellas, iron/board. Loved the small pool and beach with great chairs! Quiet location that was perfect for our family of four. Memories made with Grandparents, Mom, and granddaughter! Head to St Armand’s and Ana Maria for family fun. Oma’s pizza is yummy. Fishing Hole Mini Golf is so fun!
