My wife and I had a lovely 6-day stay in this apartment in the heart of the lovely village of San Quirico d'Orcia. The apartment was comfortable and in a great location. Carola was a wonderful host, providing lots of helpful information before our stay, greeting us and showing us around when we arrived, and providing rapid and complete help during our stay. We could not ask for more. We would happily stay again.

Carola could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The apartment was apparently granted the papal equivalent of a 5 star review back in 1572 and the ethos has stayed. The apartment is lovely, well equipped and perfectly located in one of the most picturesque towns in one of the most picturesque parts of Tuscany. Everywhere you turn there is another picture postcard view. Definitely worth a visit.

Carola’s renovated apartment in the centre of San Quirico is a great base to explore the town and surrounding area. We arrived during a heat wave and Carola proactively supplied an extra fan to supplement the 2 already there. She also provided a helpful tip about a nearby swimming pool where we spent a fun and relaxing afternoon escaping the heat. Parking lot is about 150 meters behind and below the apartment building. Unload and load luggage directly in front of apartment building.

The owner, Carola, met us and was wonderful! She shared history of the area and recommendations for restaurants, cooking classes areas to see and anything we wanted and more. We will be returning!!

We knew we were going to love this place when booked and it did not disappoint. Communication with Carola was so easy & she was super responsive and goes above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable, safe and secure. Her husband Angelo owns an excellent neighborhood bar, all of her restaurant recommendations were awesome, her knowledge of the area was extremely helpful and we can’t recommend the place and this host more than to say…Book IT!
The apartment is in the middle of the most photographed and beautiful area of Toscana. Rent a car and cruise around this area and enjoy the Italian hospitality and countryside. Food and wine and scenery heaven!

Historic, clean and beautiful yet practical apartment. Carola herself went above and beyond to help us get settled; we thank her so much!! Gave us instructions for the apt/area, made our dinner reservation the night we arrived. She booked a cooking class for our family in the nearby countryside at the Valdorcia Belvedere B&B (no commission to her). The cooking class and stay at the apt were delightful highlights of our whole trip. Grazie!

Staying in Tuscany and at this VRBO in San Quirico d'Orcia was the highlight of our three week trip to Italy. The description and pictures of the property were 100% accurate. Very comfortable and well accommodated. Carola, our host, is one of the best VRBO hosts we have encountered in all our travels. I can't say enough nice things about Carola or her property. Parking is a challenge when traveling and always a concern when staying at a 16th century apartment inside an ancient walled city - but not in this case. Parking was close and convenient. We used the San Quirico d'Orcia property as a base for our time in Tuscany. Every direction we travelled was breath taking. Carola helped us with many recommendations (wine tasting, cooking classes, site seeing) and in every case, all proved to be highlights of our trip. Next time we are in Tuscany we will plan our trip to ensure we are able to stay here again.

Great experience in a lovely town
We spent 6 nights in this historic and lovely apartment. Carola did a great job renovating this property, The location was great for exploring the surrounding countryside. We also enjoyed wandering the small town of San Quirico d’Orcia. Very nice people! Communication was excellent. Carola met us at the apartment and was very welcoming. Tuscan adventure
La Scala 1572 was a great 'home base' for our Tuscan adventure. Perfectly located within short walking distance of all of historic San Quirico d'Orcia. Also, great parking nearby. Carola was wonderful and helped us find a perfect wine tasting in Montalcino along with the thermal hot springs bath in nearby Bagno Vignoni. The property is perfectly located between Montalcino and Montepulciano. Also a short drive (less than one hour) to Siena. I can't imagine a better location to have a perfect Tuscan vacation. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfection!!
We absolutely loved our stay!! The apartment is adorable in design combining both historic elements with modern conveniences. It was clean and well-appointed. It is well located on a charming little lane and easy to find. Carola was so fantastic to work with and we would return to this apartment at any time. Thank you Carola!!

A fabulous stay
Everything was fabulous. The communication prior to our visit was excellent. Carola met us and showed us through the property so that we had all the information we required. She gave us great tips on fabulous places to visit and was extrmely helpful with parking, even coming with us in our car to show us the parking place. The property is lovely and with a great history. It was also a great place from which to explore the Tuscan countryside and beautiful villages. Highly recommend this property.

Great property centrally located
Carola was a Great Host. See meet us at the Italian Cafe’ and personally walked us to the apartment. Carola provides you with plenty of local information and guides you to a great vacation. The town will give you a great feel of the “true Italy”.
Great place to stay and visit the near buy Brunello wineries of Montepulciano and Montalcino. Very comfortable and nicely decorated home.

A very pleasant staying!
Carola's sympathy is contagious. She was very helpfull in suggesting points of interest in the area. The apartment of the XVIII century has been beautifully restored and is tastefully decorated. It is very well located in the historical center. The room, with private toilet, is spacious. The kitchen is the common area of the apartment equipped with all the necessary utensils, as well as the elementary goods, but unfortunately rare to find - tea, coffee, olive oil, sugar, salt, etc.
We had a very pleasant staying.

A wonderful stay in a modern historical apartment
We stayed with 3 Persons in the flat and it was great. The communication with the owner was always friendly. The flat is in the middle of the historical part of the city. Round the corner are great restaurants and nice typical Italian shops. We enjoyed our stay and I can only recommend this wonderful apartment.

Historic apartment in beautiful town
Spent three wonderful days in Carola’s lovely restored apartment. San Quirico d’Orcia is a wonderful town to center your travels from - it’s quiet, interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately our host was away, so we did not meet but she communicated with me throughout our stay and made everything easy and stress free. I loved looking down on the pretty little historic street from our kitchen windows and imagining all of the life that had passed that way before. The apartment has been refurbished with much care and love. I wish we had been able to stay longer.

Perfect area surrounded by gorgeous Tuscan scenery.
Nicely decorated apartment in an old building, comfortable and roomy. Close to restaurants and shops, and within easy, traveling distance to nearby towns and historical sites.
Slightly inconvenient if traveling by car as the very narrow street does not allow for parking. However, there is a parking lot nearby.
Carola’s enthusiasm for San Quirico is contagious. She can be counted on for continued communication leading up to, during and after your stay.

Beutiful location and appartment.
The apartment has a wonderful location and is appointed very well.
All the amenities in the kitchen and bathroom that were required.
Only criticism was that the wi fi did not work in the back bedroom.
Would stay here again.

Loved it!!!
Recently stayed there for a week. Great location for touring around the country side! Excellent apartment in the midst of town. Great owner/manager. The apartment is well located for walks, restaurants, and shopping! Husband owns Cafe Italiano just a block from the apartment. Awesome pastries and coffee!!! We will return!!!

FABULOUS!! Carola is a wonderful host in every way!
Carola’s recently remodeled apartment is wonderfully comfortable (but still feels historic), immaculate and has every needed amenity! Location in the historic part of the city is wonderful, parking is just a short walk away and we loved the village and all it’s ancient history! Plus the apartments 500 year history as a waystation for pilgrims on the way to Rome! Wow!! Thank you so much Carola for an unforgettable vacation!!

Carola e Angelo persone gentili disponibili cordiali ; alloggio bellissimo comodissimo fornitissimo posizionato magnificamente ;a voler essere proprio proprio pignoli per noi e per le nostre abitudini la mancanza del bidet(sostituito da comode doccette) è l'unico handicap della location ma noi ci siamo trovati ottimamente e ci torneremo senz'altro

Gorgeous apartment in a quaint setting
We loved our stay at LaScala! The apartment was well appointed, and Carola was a kind, helpful and very responsive host. We hope to come back some day since our stay was short and there is so much to explore in the area. San Quirico is a gem of a spot - good location and doesn't get overrun with tourist buses (don't think we saw any during our stay?). We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Carola!

Wohnung zum Wohlfühlen und den Urlaub genießen
Die Toskana an sich ist ja schon grandios genug, da brauchst eigentlich nicht viel, um den Aufenthalt perfekt zu machen. Wenn aber eine Vermieterin sich sichtlich so viel Mühe gibt, die Wohnung angenehm einzurichten und bis aufs Kleinste perfekt auszustatten, macht das den Urlaub noch angenehmer. Es fehlte uns an nichts in der Küche, die Betten waren bequem und alle Elektrogeräte funktionierten. Mag sein, dass das für andere "selbstverständlich" ist, wir haben aber schon vieles erlebt. Für uns war das hoffentlich nicht der letzte Besuch in San Quirico, und wenn, dann jederzeit gerne wieder in dieser Wohnung.
Nicht zu toppen ist auch der persönliche Kontakt mit der Vermieterin im Vorfeld, bei der Übergabe und auch im Nachgang.
Diese Wohnung ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

Unforgetable Experience !
We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully renovated apartment right in the centre of the old town. The owner Carola is very friendly and gave us a warm welcome and all info we need for sightsee in the area and nearby towns. The apt is very clean and fully equipped and has very good beds. The stone building we stay is ancient but very special and has back access to the car park so that's convenient. It's easy to get around to other parts of Tuscany and many restaurants in this town too.

It was amazing!
I spent - together with my boyfriend - one weekend at the beautiful apartment "La Scala".
We were impressed in many regards. First of all, we felt comfortable as we got to our flat. The whole establishment is nicely and clean done up. Even the spirit of living in the beautiful Toscana is reflected in this apartment. Just made with love!
And of course we were under the spell of San Quirico d'Orica. Our flat was very close to the center of this place. Easily, we could get to every beautiful spot - luckely we had our very kind renter Carola, who gave us many insider tipps! Thats why, we could spend a lovely evening at the "Caffé Italiano" which belongs to Carolas husband, named Angelo. Its definitely a place to go if you want to relax while drinking a good wine and experiencing the specialities of Toscana.
As a briefly result, we would say: If you are interested in visiting and/or discovering the heart of Toscana, go to San Quirico and spent a weekend at "La Scala"!
One last thing is to say: Thank you Carola, for this awesome weekend at your apartment! We will come back, that's for sure! :)
