Absolutely love the Zirlott family, staying in the comfy and cozy shed, and enjoying the hidden river front property with a fish house to purchase the best oysters, crab cakes, gumbo, and shrimp we have ever had. We will be returning to unwind and enjoy this paradise again soon. The house is a nice affordable alternative to the beach houses and condos in Dauphin Island. We (my 4 yr old and I) enjoyed driving past the cows and mooing at them each time we saw them and watching the fireflies at night. We weren't as close to the water/river as I thought we would be - the shed actually faces the opposite direction. But it was quiet and peaceful 🙂.

The shed is a perfect exclusion from the city living. We loved it even though we didn't spend much time there. Most of our time was spent on the island with family. But the shed worked out great for us. We'd do it for sure!

Our stay at “The Shed” had more to offer than I can put into words. The Zirlott’s were so accommodating and such down to earth sweet people! We had the best oysters of our life right from their dock along with an insanely delicious crab quiche. Let’s just say if I had a bigger cooler I would’ve bought every last shrimp, oyster, crab quiche and container of gumbo they had there. The Shed it’s self was very comfortable and had everything we needed to have a great time relaxing right there on the property. All and all this trip is worth every single penny and if are looking at this property and considering booking it you won’t regret it. Again if you’re anything like me and love great people, great food and great conversations the Zirlott’s and this shed offer everything you need in life! Better hurry though my wife and I are already looking for the next slots available to book our next trip there.

The Shed is a charming hidden gem located on Fowl River. It is a short drive to Dauphin Island. Patricia was warm and welcoming as always. Don't forget to buy some fresh seafood from the Zirlott's before you leave.

I loved the shed and it’s surroundings. Peaceful, relaxing and within close driving for all we wanted to do. Will definitely recommend this to others. Thank you for a great experience.

This was my first Vrbo experience so didn’t know what to expect. It certainly met our needs as a drop point as we explored the Mobile/Gulf Shores area. A very short distance to Dauphine Island and an hour and a half up through Mobile to Gulf Shores.

What a beautiful setting! We loved being close to Dauphin Island beaches (short drive away) yet staying in a location that was special in itself! We had privacy, yet felt so safe. Heard an owl and birds, enjoyed the night chirps (likely little 'peepers'- small green frogs.) We learned about the fishing industry, history. Host family available to answer questions and supply material about the area, specific history (even local recipes!). The food you can purchase from the seafood store (walking distance, but not close enough to be a concern) is delicious! We bought frozen packages to enjoy at home! Such a TREAT! We also recommend Dinner's Ready (you can buy frozen foods to cook in the vrbo but we enjoyed soup and sandwiches on site!). The Audubon Bird Sanctuary is a feast for the eyes! So much to see and enjoy there. The trails are easy to navigate, well maintained. The views are more spectacular than you might imagine- like being on a different continent! Bellingrath Gardens was a complete delight for all ages and a perfect place for family photos!
