LONG DESCRIPTION
Why stay in the noisy city centre of Rome when you can stay in this charming spacious modern house, set on a hill top in the farmlands between the Tiber River and the Sabine Hills. La Viridiana is a very spacious home with wonderful views of the river valley near to lively medieval villages . Not divided into apartments but totally available . The interiors are bright and sunny, simply furnished with traditional antiques but equipped with everything required for a relaxed holiday. A covered terrace runs the length of the first floor, looking out over the salt water swimming pool to the hills beyond. Huge umbrella pines and old olive trees dot the garden, where two vine-covered pergolas provide shady spots for lounging and dining al fresco. The area is packed with touring options, including several beautiful abbeys, the city of Viterbo and the many medieval villages dotted among the hills. Even Rome is a possibility, with a direct line the fantastic advantage is that there is a train running every twenty minutes in the morning that takes you into the centre of Rome in just 35 mins for just 4 Euros

LOCATION
In lush farmlands at the foot of the Sabine Hills, just east of the Tiber Valley. 2.5km/1.5 miles from the village of Cantalupo in Sabina with its museum-castle and 5km/3 miles from medieval Forano. Touring options include Viterbo, 30 minutes, the gorgeous abbey of Farfa and the four sanctuaries in the Valle Santa connected with St. Francis of Assisi. Tivoli and Orvieto are both reached in less than 1 hour.

Very nicely maintained terraced garden with olive trees . The private salt water swimming pool, 5 x 12m/16 x 39 feet, is set 12 steps below the house. Two vine-covered loggias with sitting and dining areas.
ASSISTANCE
Assistance is provided locally by the property's caretaker, who speaks a little English and lives nearby - and is an excellent cook. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available, are noted under Price and Availability. The check in is from 4 to 8 pm and the check out from 7 to 10 am.

Airports: Rome, 70km/44 miles. Railway station at Poggio Mirteto Scalo, 5km/3 miles [direct line to Rome in 35 minutes]. Motorway exit at Ponzano Romano, 10km/6 miles along paved roads to the property’s gates. Ample shaded parking.

The private salt water swimming pool, 5 x 12m/16 x 39 feet, has a depth of 1.3-4m/4-10 feet and both steps and a ladder for entry/exit.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Cantalupo in Sabina is reputedly the birthplace of the cantaloupe melon; the name of the village translates to ‘song of the wolf’. La Viridiana lies about 50m/yards from Villa L’Uliveta, same owner, with the garden and several large trees in-between.
