Amazing location, amazing property and surroundings, wonderful breakfast but most of all incredibly hosts! Kind, generous, attentive and caring! Would love to go back again to just spent time on that estate! Amazing energy!

Nothing, we loved everything!

The property is very comfortable, decorated with taste and maintained with care. Super clean. There is an entire history connected to the property and the owners are great at explaining it. The sweet wine and the home-produced jams taster great!

Honestly there was nothing we didn’t like. Okay, one small thing: Our teenage kids are of the opinion the WiFi signal could have been stronger.

The view and the location was amazing.. the pool was beautiful and felt like you are in Tuscany!

Everything was great

A hidden gem! If you want a real Greek experience, look no further. Facilities, breakfast and hosts were beyond reproach. The estate produces good wines, and has an interesting archeological history. Short drive (5 minutes) to downtown, grocery markets and restaurants. Best part is the calm, relaxed vibe in the area - we hiked the mountains, visited numerous secluded beaches (always finding a beach to ourselves). Never needed a reservation for dinner, even though it was high season. Hosts went out of their way to share the best of Karystos and the surrounding area - with maps to hidden beaches, hikes, local dining recommendations, and even facilitating delivery of lost luggage and ferry timetables. Definitely avoid the tourist hustle and bustle of Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and the likes - if you want to really experience Greece, this is the spot! We will definitely return…many thanks to Alkmini, Nikos, Maria and the entire Montofoli staff for one of the best vacations we’ve had!

This place is way more than an outstanding residential facility. It is a field of archaeological and historic value of immense proportions as it captures history extending all the way back to 10,000 years ago. The landlords provided us with a guided tour through Aegean wine yards, ancient Greek temple ruins, Roman baths’ remnants and remains of the Byzantine/ Catalan/ Ottoman era that create an atmosphere of “going back to the roots” and exploring the essence of our inner self. This was much, much more than a peaceful high-end weekend getaway. It reflected Greek hospitality and its best, tainted with earth’s sounds, soil’s smell and history stories embracing all of your senses.
