10 Park Street Hotel & Banquets

私はVaranasiからネパールのBhairahawaに自転車で向かう旅の途中でこちらの宿に宿泊しました。実は適当に選んだホテルだったのですが、着いてびっくり。想像をはるかに超える素敵なホテルでした。 小ぶりながらもしっとりとしたしつらえの建物、清潔で十分な広さのある快適な客室、非常に良好なシャワールーム。また、とても良い落ち着いた雰囲気のレストランは、おそらくは観光客だけではなく地元の良質なお客の憩いの場にもなっていて、とても美味しく、非常によかったです。 ただ、このホテルの一番の素晴らしさは、おそらくは「全スタッフさんのホスピタリティ」です。敷地のガードマンさんから建物内のあらゆるスタッフ、レストランのスタッフも含めて、本当にほっとする、素晴らしい接客をしてくれます。 たまたま、私は自転車が壊れてしまった状態で到着した事もあったと思うのですが、色々配慮してくださったりして本当に感動しました。 なかなか再訪する機会のない町ですが、このホテルに泊まりに行くためにもう一度行きたいくらいです。 本当に素晴らしかった。

悪い点などひとつもありません。

This was my third visit to India, and over the course of more than two months in total, I have stayed at many hotels in many different cities. Yet this hotel made an absolutely astonishing impression on me. The moment you open the door on the ground floor, you are greeted by the refreshing blast of a cool air curtain. Then, when you take the elevator up to the reception, you may well forget for a moment that you are actually in India. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and all the facilities—including the air conditioning, refrigerator, lighting, and electric kettle—worked perfectly. In particular, the toilet and shower were of a standard that I would not normally expect from other hotels in India. The friendly and polished service provided by the staff, especially Mr. Abhishek Pandey, was also outstanding. During our stay, they promptly and willingly helped us print our train tickets, and at the end of our stay they even arranged a rickshaw to take us to the railway station. I also highly recommend the sophisticated vegetarian restaurant on the ground floor.

I stayed one night as a stopover on my journey from Varanasi to Sunauli, the Nepal border. The room was large, modern, and nicely furnished, with a small workspace, a water kettle, and a TV (though without any channels or connection options). The bed was comfortable, and the overall interior felt fresh and well-kept.

Unfortunately, the ventilation system outside my window was very noisy throughout the night, making it hard to rest. The air conditioning was unstable — humidity in the room came and went, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere and making it difficult to sleep. The bed, duvet, and sheets had an unpleasant smell, a mix of dampness and old body odor. There were also many small flies and other insects in the room, which made the stay uncomfortable. Breakfast was another disappointment — I ordered toast with butter and jam, but received only a small packet of jam, enough for just one slice. The fruit I ordered tasted like onion, most likely because the kitchen knives hadn’t been cleaned properly after cutting onions.
