Ishigaki Sunset Cove

We loved our time at Sunset Cove! My partner and I booked this hotel during our stay in Ishigaki on our honeymoon. We went back and forth between whether we wanted to stay in town or on the north part of the island. We are SO happy we stayed on the North End and Sunset Cove exceeded our expectations! Josh is a super great guy who was extremely helpful with everything, from suggestions on what to see, where to eat, and frequently checking in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We are usually budget travelers but this spot was well worth the price for what you get! They have kayaks you can rent out for free and go kayaking through nearby mangroves. They also have snorkeling gear you can rent for cheap and he'll even tell you where you can go to snorkel. The breakfast was filling and delicious (he even accommodated my vegan husband which was so kind)! You can also rent cars directly from the hotel which was perfect because we did a lot of excursions including scuba diving, snorkeling, and more! Cannot recommend this spot enough. This stay was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Unfortunately the beach has a lot of trash on it, but a lot of the beaches on Ishigaki do as well. I'm sure it's tough to keep up with the cleanup. It was a bummer to see though when you went down to the water.

Josh the hotel owner is such a lovey guy, kept in contact with me before arrival. On arrival was greeted and straight away said nothing would bother him asking for recommendations, etc. the staff were all lovely also. All English speaking. The hotel was beautiful with amazing views and private beach also. With swimming pool also at the hotel. Breakfast was decent and great start to the day. Location of the hotel was 25/30 min drive to the nearest convenience store as out the way from city centre and not much around apart from drinks vending machine. It’s a great quiet location.

The host collected us from the airport and rented us a car while we were there. He was also very good at giving us places to go and see by dropping us pins for good locations on the Island .

The room was very small and tight.

Pulizie della mattina molto superficiali, assenza di membri dello staff dopo le 18.00, lavatrici e asciugatrici obsolete, ed esagerata puzza nella sala della colazione che ti rimaneva impressa addosso. Prezzo alto rispetto alla qualità.
