Loved location, being on beach, space in home but house needs maintenance and repairs (paint peeling off ceiling, damage around 2 window sills, walls need to be cleaned and touch up with paint, siding on ground outside, sheets in one bedroom dirty ).

Got together with my adult family of 6 for 3 nights in January. A nice place to spend time together away from the polar vortex that took over the majority of the US.

News outlets reported severe weather approaching Galveston on the dates we reserved. There were threats of street flooding and travel alerts for several days ahead of our trip. I tried to get the owners to move our dates to another week, even one with cheaper fees, but we were willing to pay the higher fee that we contracted for. When they decided to respond to me 2 days later, they declined to help us. The weather during our stay was horrendous, and our home town, just north of Houston flooded. We very nearly found ourselves trapped in a drenched rental in Galveston. We threw our money away.

This house was a perfect fit for our family vacation. The house is right on the beach with a great view from the deck. The house was the perfect size to accommodate us plenty of space. The cargo lift made unpacking and packing the car a breeze. We definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a four bedroom beachfront home.

We had a lovely time. The house was great and we enjoyed being away from the busier town. We had a small problem with a beeping smoke detector but it was remedied very quickly.

The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't let us park indoors, it was rainy and there was water and mud in the parking lot.
Otherwise we really liked the house, it is spacious and comfortable with a very good view of the sea.

Our family was very impress with the open concept with the kitchen and the living room. It was easy to cook and still talk to all family members. The elevator was a great bonus and really helped bring everything upstairs. Everyone loved being so close to the water. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep and eat. Would definitely stay here again. I loved just sitting out on the porch with my tea and watching the sun rising.

Gorgeous open living and giant kitchen. Bedrooms were all comfortable and very clean. The only very minor improvements would be hand towels in the kitchen and some tissues. A hammock on the enormous deck would be a big plus. We have been coming to the island for years and this was the best.

We had a wonderful stay and hope to return. The house is well-maintained, has many windows that provide beautiful views of the beach, and is in a great location. There is an ample supply of beach toys in the storage room that includes a handy wagon to haul them, (my grandkids added some of their’s to the stash when we left). The lift made unloading and loading our luggage and groceries so much easier.
This was a three generation family trip, and the seating on the back deck was the perfect place for us to gather and visit in the evenings.

The location is fabulous with easy private beach access. We had young kids with us and it was great to be able to go back to the house for bathroom and snack breaks. The beach was not crowded at all and it was clean. The property itself was also clean. It had a lot of beach stuff including a wagon, chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards. The kitchen was stocked with most of the utensils and appliances you’d need. You’ll need to bring/buy condiments.
Only a few things I would change. There were fans in the closets but several didn’t work. The kids room with the bunks didn’t have blackout curtains and the sun literally goes down in that window. If you plan on putting your kids to bed before 9pm you’ll need to figure something out. There is not a TV in one of the bedrooms which is sort of odd. Communication with the host was rocky at first but eventually was fine. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Prefer staying on the west side of the island.This was a plus as the beach was never crowded and being a private beach was wonderful with young children and toddlers. House was as described, a few areas on the house was different than pictures. Master Bedroom is on beach side but has drapes now, it also stays the warmest along with the one other bedroom on that side. Master closet did hold numerous fans and heaters but some need to be trashed as they didn't work. House was clean but needs some repairs, windows are missing screens or some have holes along with sashes peeling from moisture. Kitchen was awesome, held anything you could think of except as stated kitchen towels and only enough dish soap and dishwasher pods for two cycles. They do require you to clean dishes and put up before checkout, not just start dishwasher.Same with washer/dryer only enough for 2 washes. They do provide mini bottles of sundries in bathrooms and that was nice. 12 Bath towels but hand towels were only one each. Downstairs closet was full of beach items, lift was a very thankful helping with luggage and groceries. Balcony on the beach was a pleasure since we had toddlers and they could play and not worry about stairs. Plenty of outdoor seating on balcony and downstairs area for relaxing but watch out on mowed grass, lots of sand burrs. You deal with a manager not a owner on this property. Would stay again. Thank you.

The house and beach access is exactly what you see described here! Communication was just what we needed, the inside of the house was clean and comfortable with a large kitchen that had a lot of room and counterspace. The house has a great outdoor space on the upper deck to relax with the sight and sound of the ocean. Bring mosquito spray, they were awful this time and we weren't prepared!! (this is NOT a property issue, this is because it's summer and Galveston is the swamp.)

The location was amazing. The property was exactly what we wanted with plenty of space. We wish the weather would have worked out for us but it didn't so we didn't get to enjoy the beach much. The space in the house made up for all that. Great home! Would love to stay again in the future.

Lynn’s Bare Feet Retreat was a great place for our family and a few friends to relax just steps from what felt like our own private beach. We were able to watch and listen to the waves from the spacious deck, cook and eat food together in the well-equipped open kitchen/living/dining room, and sleep comfortably.
The property and house was as expected from the description, and after reading other reviews about bringing extra kitchen towels (which we did since we’d be cooking a good bit) we had everything we needed during our 4-night stay. Loved how easy it was to walk through the dune to get to the beach and then hop back to the house to grill up some food or enjoy the views from the house. Loved our time there - thank you!

This is a wonderful property and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It is quite a way from Galveston, but the upside is that the beach is never crowded. The outside is starting to show some typical beach maintenance issues, and there is some water damage on the windowsills, but this is a beautiful house with phenomenal views inside and out. There were six of us and we cooked quite a bit, so a few more dishtowels would be nice. Great place!

Look the house is nice. Location is good. Management is horrible. Hope everything works for you. We arrived on a cold wet night. The outside lights did not work, so we had to trek up and down slick stairs in the dark. Lucky no one got hurt. The place was 58 degrees when we arrived because they could not be bothered to start the heat. We then tried to wash and dry our wet clothes. Dryer was broken. Can’t dry things outside in the rain.
Ok, things happen, so we contact the management. They say they will handle, but they expect us to wait around for the people to fix things. It takes two days and multiple visits a for the lighting and three days for the dryer. And they tell us Lowe’s will be there sometime during the day to deliver it. So, if we want a dryer for wet clothes (it rained all week), we needed to hang out there all day. Dryer folks come at 6pm and the new dryer is also broken.
I contacted the management and asked for some consideration and she told me that it was my fault for wanting functional appliances and there would be no discount for all this mess. And she was rude. This place was far from cheap. Functional appliances seem like something you could expect.
Disappointing trip and one of the worst of dozens of rentals that we have done over the years (despite the nice location). Proof that even the nicest place can fall apart if the management is inconsiderate and greedy.

The property was clean, but smelled musty. All of the adults had some respiratory issues after 1-2 nights there. It would be a better environment if there was no carpet in the home-we were surprised there was any, seeing that it is beachfront. That feature is the star of the show. To wake up and see the ocean on a gorgeous morning is amazing.
The house has most amenities you could need, but additional towels and additional sheets were requested (owner quickly obliged). Living space and kitchen are very spacious and fit our family fine. Several of the pots & pans were not very clean. I would suggest that the housekeeping could be more attentive in that area.
Beds are all queen sized which is not ideal for our family, but would be fine for most.
Overall, it was a decent stay. I will miss that view!

It was good. Lift for getting luggage and groceries upstairs and down is great. Very short walk to the beach. Back deck gives great view of the beach. Beds were average as far as comfort. Clean property. Property manager was very responsive.

It is a wonderful house and location. Our family had a great time at the beach, which is just a few steps away and no vehicles allowed.
• The kitchen is well stock with everything you need. Some pans and things are well worn, but serviceable.
• They were timely and responsive to inquiries.
• Fabolous deck to have a cup of coffee at in the morning.
• The house is far enough away if you are looking for a less crowded beach, but still minutes from anything you need or want.
• Plenty of room in the outdoor space below the house. Easily rinse off from a day at the beach. There is a storage area for any gear you brought, and a grill.
• It was great to have access to all the beach toys and the beach cart they made available.
• When you are with a family of all girls, as the official cabana boy of the group…that lift is a life saver for getting all the gear upstairs 😊
Areas of improvement are minor, and we will definitely stay here again. These are more suggestions that would make it a perfect stay
• Couple of broken windows need to be replaced. Sucks looking out from the gorgeous view through those
• When the bathroom and shower are poorly cleaned, it leaves doubt the everything else was cleaned.
• Consider replacing the carpet with flooring. it is stained and super beat up.
• Absolutely loved having access to all the beach toys, umbrellas, beach cart etc. That is just awesome if you don’t want to bring all that with you. Do go through it from time to time and pick out the things that are broken and unusable.

The property worked out perfectly for our family. We came in from Kansas, Colorado, and Arizona to have a great time, and we sure did! We had 13 people and plenty of room. Access to the beach was awesome as well as the toys, chairs, etc... made traveling much easier. The views from the house and decks were fantastic and made our 40th Anniversary an unforgettable memory for our entire family... thanks so much.

My husband and I and our 4 adult children plus 2 boyfriends and a best friend 18-51 (plus 2 dogs) stayed here for a MUCH needed long weekend and absolutely LOVED it!!! We brought most of our food and were able to have what we forgot easily delivered. There was SO much space in the kitchen/living area - the bedrooms were comfy - bathrooms & showers were plenty - and it was great to be able to do laundry & dry towels! Our favorite part about the home was the porch/deck overlooking the beach! WOW!!! The only thing we might bring extra for the next time - and yes there will be a next time - would be a few more beach chairs and kitchen towels/pot holders?? We also love that it is further down the beach away from Galveston:)
