Family run guesthouse set just outside of Ruteng in the rice paddies. Geoff is an amazing host very friendly and knowledgeable and offers so much information about the area. A vegetarian dinner can be shared with other guests for a small charge. Beautiful views from the rooms across the rice paddies. We did a sunrise walk guided by Geoff in the morning. He ensured we all made it safely through the paddies took photos of everyone and organised coffee with the local farmers a wonderful stay!

Nothing would have liked to stay more than 1 night

Jeff was extremely hospitable, sharing arak, cigarettes and water. The homestay was in a lovely location with a great view for dinner and breakfast. He really males you feel like you are at home from the minute you arrive.

Some early morning noise from the builders. But understand able as they had just experienced all the earthquakes

The property was basic with a nice view. Homemade veg dinner was cheap and delicious. The same for breakfast. The owner was very nice and you could take a sunrise rice tour which was amazing!

It was very noisy. If people are staying outside after dinner and talk, you can hear everything from the room.

We booked Jeff’s place for 3 nights based on the very positive reviews and we were not disappointed! The views from the verandah are delightful, the breakfasts delicious and the optional shared family dinners great value. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms clean and with good showers. We booked a full day tour with Jeff which included trekking across the rice terraces at dawn, pop into the local school, breakfast back at the guesthouse, visit to Todo traditional village, short hike to see the Lingko spiderweb fields and a tour around the Ruteng markets. All very good. A great 3-night stay.
