Excellent breakfast and location. Friendly staff.

It was a bit noisy in the evening/night.

Lo staff molto attento: segnalato un piccolo problema, è stato subito risolto. La posizione è ottima: siamo in pieno centro storico e la spiaggia è vicinissima. Ottima la colazione servita al tavolo con salato e dolce. Comodo e molto buono il ristorante gestito dallo stesso B&B. La piccola piscina sul tetto è una chicca con bell'atmosfera. Da ritornarci sicuramente.

Nella nostra camera c'era la finestra, ma posta in alto e poco oscurabile. Bagno cieco e un po' piccolo anche se dotato di tutto. Suggerirei di mettere qualche gancio per gli asciugamani e anche nella camera.

The location is perfect. It’s right in the heart of Gallipoli’s historic centre, surrounded by beautiful alleyways, restaurants, bars and the sea. It really is an ideal place to stay if you want the full Gallipoli experience. After we had a very difficult first night in our original split-level room, the manager was also very responsive when we contacted him and quickly arranged for us to move to another room. The replacement room was a huge improvement: clean, comfortable, all on one level, with a lovely view down one of the old town’s alleyways towards the sea. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we were ultimately very happy with this room.

Unfortunately, our original split-level room had some major issues. The bed is on a mezzanine, but the old air-conditioning unit is downstairs and simply doesn’t cool the sleeping area. There was an old rusty fan facing the bed, but the mezzanine was still unbearably hot at night. Interestingly, the downstairs sofa had already been made into a sofa bed when we arrived, which made us wonder whether the issue with sleeping upstairs was already known. The bathroom also didn’t feel particularly clean, especially the shower head, which had a visible build-up of what appeared to be mould around the water outlets. An iron was provided but no ironing board. The hotel also has a rooftop bar open to the public, which wasn’t particularly clear to us when booking. Music continued until around 2am directly above us, with people regularly coming and going. Our room faced the internal courtyard and lift used to access the rooftop, and the courtyard amplified the noise considerably. Combined with the heat, this was easily the worst night’s sleep of our entire Puglia trip. Breakfast was also very disappointing and quite different from what we expected from the online listing. The booking photos show what appears to be a buffet-style breakfast where guests can choose from a spread of food. In reality there was no buffet or menu and we weren’t asked what we wanted or about any dietary requirements. The hostess simply brought out a selection for us. Water was served in disposable plastic cups, despite breakfast taking place in the restaurant next door. We were given a couple of slices of spicy salami, small pieces of focaccia that tasted stale and some other assorted items, followed by a small selection of pastries. One piece of jam tart was cut in such an unusual way that we genuinely wondered whether a previously eaten section had been removed. Obviously we cannot know that for certain, but its appearance was enough to put us off.
