This was the best beach vacation we have had. It only took us 1 min to walk to the beach and they provided everything we could possibly need including chairs, wagons, umbrellas, and towels. We could clean off easily in the outdoor shower. The beds were extremely comfortable and they made us feel welcome from the start with some treats, snacks, and drinks when we arrived.

Scott and Mary's home was more than we could have ever known to ask for. The set-up for our 2 families was perfect, with both sides of the duplex, the property was situated as close to the beach as it possibly could be without sitting directly on it, and all of the extras included, from beach toys and wagons, to waters and fruit and snacks for the kids. Hospitality like this was incredible to receive, and we will remember this stay forever as being perfection. Thank you, Scott and Mary. In gratitude, The Simmons and Faiello Families.

Prior to booking our stay, we reviewed several properties and could not help notice the amazing reviews of this property. I can tell you that Scott and Mary deserve them all and even six stars if I could. The short walk to the beach and all supplies like chairs, umbrella, wagon, cooler made it very convenient. I had mentioned in my booking request that were celebrating a birthday for one guest and retirement for another and they had some well wishes as well as a little cake to celebrate. I travel often for work and have stayed at several VRBOs and cannot think of a better property and hosts. I highly recommend a stay here and we will absolutely be back.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! Our family had the most enjoyable experience ever at the beach. This was the easiest rental experience we have ever had. The owners are amazing, they reply very quickly and provide everything anyone could need or want. The attention to detail is outstanding! The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. It is so nice to pull up to the door and simply walk in. No steps, elevators, etc. Very accessible. This is an amazing beach cottage and we hope to stay there again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Impressed with how clean it was! The property was very stylish and nicely decorated. The hosts thought of everything and went above and beyond. We were pleasantly surprised to find everything we needed and more! They have all the beach equipment needed for 2 families. Everything was in great condition. Nice outdoor area to eat or play games. Everything was perfect! The beach cottage was exactly as described in the listing. Everything you could possibly need was there and more. We had such a great time with the quick walk to the beach, great location to activities, shopping and loads of restaurants to choose from. And did I mention the beach :-). Crescent Beach was great! We walked each morning and night, and the water was perfect with fun waves. We couldn't have been happier on our relaxing vacation at the Blue Whale Cottage. Thank you Mary and Scott. The house is adorable, well stocked and perfect for a family or friends wanting to stay together and have their own space. Unfortunately, the weather was not the warmest or we would have lived outside on the deck. Both sides of the home are equally beachy and stylish with comfortable beds, a nice sitting area and well organized kitchen. The owners thought of everything, all you have to do is bring your clothes. They had beach wagons, coolers, books, coloring books for the kids, beach chairs, beach towels, games and enough kitchen supplies to make a gourmet meal if that is your thing (we ordered pizza). The location is around the corner from beach access away from noise of the high rises. It was amazing. If you have a chance to stay here, do it.

I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars. Can I give 10 stars? I know there is some skepticism when you see a place with this many reviews and they are all 5 stars, but you shouldn't worry. This place is the real deal.
My family and I took a trip before our kids had to go back to school. We lucked out and Mary and Scott's place was available during our travel window. We ended up renting the whole cottage and had both units as there were 6 of us total (3 adults and 3 kids). The pass through door at the front made it easy for us to utilize the whole space. The units had essentially everything you could think of needing. Salt, pepper, spices, bottled water, treats for our kids were waiting for us when we got there. All the little things that you usually have to make a run for once you get to a place, so that you can use it like the home away from home it's supposed to be, are probably already there in one of the drawers or cabinets.
Mary and Scott were also great at communicating before, during, and after our visit. From checking in on the ages of our children to make us aware of things we might need to watch out for in the house, to checking in, and also filling us in when there was a power outage in the area. They were just a simple text away. Very appreciated.
Also the location is as advertised. You're basically a street and a half away from a public beach entrance. Even better there is a life guard tower right there too. The house does also come with all of the things you would need for the beach. It's just a matter of packing up one of the beach wagons there with whatever you're going to need for the day and walking across the street. There is an outdoor shower to wash off all the sand when you get back and even an area to help you clean up any shells you picked up. Pretty much everything you could think of was thought of for you.
Cannot speak highly enough about the property and the hosts. We will definitely look here first the next time we come back to Myrtle Beach.

What a perfect set up for our two families. We had our own designated space that could connect (or be closed off) as we wished. What made it extra special were the personalized touches. They thought of everything! Wagons and beach supplies were abundant, little containers for the kids to collect and keep shells, coloring books with crayons, games/game boards, recommendations for local places to visit, an indoor washer/dryer, and even snacks stocked in the fridge! The location was perfect and everything was better than we had imagined. We 100% hope to stay here next time we travel to South Carolina!

This place is amazing! I have never stayed anywhere that was so well stocked! They had everything for your beach stay- wagon, chairs, toys, towels, coolers, disposables, ice, games. You name it, it was stocked. We loved the dual unit setup and the outdoor space including the outdoor shower. Plenty of parking space. The personal touches were amaziing and welcomjng.

This was a perfect spot for our family’s vacation. The physical set up offered the best of all worlds: privacy and separation as well as communal space so that everyone’s needs were met. The house was exceptionally clean and well-stocked. These owners have carefully thought this residence out and made sure their guests would be comfortable. A short walk to the beach, a great back area for family meals, relaxing on the porches, playing cornhole.

This is our third year at this wonderful home! This year we were able to bring friends and rent out the entire house which was just perfect. Everything that you would need is ready for you to use, nothing overlooked. The outdoor shower is one of the best perks as it’s enclosed and the kids loved it. The close walk to the beach, the sun rooms, you couldn’t ask for more! We will be back again next year!

If we could give this house ten stars, we would! It was absolutely perfect. The hosts thought of everything. The house was spotless upon arrival and there were snacks waiting for us. Much appreciated after a 14 hour car ride. The beach is so close. 90 second walk and the house had all the wagons, chairs, coolers, towels and beach toys that we needed. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. The kids walked a few blocks to Mr G’s ice cream every night. The beach was not overly crowded and the waves were awesome. We were close to plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and souvenir shops. Barefoot landing, a ten minute drive, was perfect for the day we skipped the beach. There was also parasailing a ten minute walk from the house. Reasonably priced and the highlight of the trip. We loved sitting on the back porch every morning and having our coffee. This was an absolute gem and we will definitely stay here again our next trip to north Myrtle beach

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the laughing whale cottage (crescent beach)! The house was really clean, had all of the amenities needed, and was in the perfect location to the beach and local shops/restaurants. The decor of the home was perfect for a beach getaway and featured two units which was ideal for our multi generational family. The home also comes equipped with all of the necessary beach gear to help with the ease of travel to the beach. Scott & Mary were the perfect hosts and even accommodated a special request. We will definitely look to stay here in the future.

We absolutely love this place. It’s literally a 90 second walk to the beach and in a quiet area. The pictures are completely accurate. You won’t need anything extra when you book here. The owners think of everything!!! This year were welcomed with a fruit tray and last year we had a cake. I can’t wait until next year. We will always book here!!!

Perfect Little Getaway
I love this place. They thought of almost everything that you could forget on a trip. The hospitality was awesome. My only issue was that a King bed on one of the sides was lumpy. But, everything was super clean and nice. I loved the book with all of the info! Still worth 5+ stars to me because they went above and beyond. Checkin and checkout took 30 seconds and we definitely want to return.

Clean, Comfortable & Quiet
We spent 5 nights (husband and wife) at this property and it was absolutely perfect for our purposes. Our 3 primary requirements for a stay are for it to be clean, comfortable and quiet. This was 5 star in those areas. Everything we needed was provided - cooking and eating, towels and other bathroom, as well as outdoor/beach equipment. WiFi worked great and beds were comfortable. The only thing you will not get with this house is a view, but it is a short 90 second walk to the beach, as advertised. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet, reliable place to stay in Myrtle, this would be a great choice!

Anniversary weekend
Let me begin by saying that Scott and Mary could not be more gracious hosts. They made our experience so special, right down to the delicious anniversary cake, which was a huge surprise. The house was spotless, and the special touches made our stay so much more comfortable. If you cook, the kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. There is plenty of parking and spacious covered porches. I like to say that it is a cottage with a larger house feel. Thank you again for sharing your gem so that our family could make memories!!!

Expectations Exceeded
We would rate this 10 stars if we could. The property description wasn’t lying when it says “everything you need”. The owners thought of everything and had it readily available for a perfect beach vacation! I strongly suggest every renter read the manual in the home as the owners were thoughtful enough to include emergency info and a list of things to see and do in the area. The home is very clean and so close to the beach! Communication with the owner was easy and very thoughtful! We enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back.
