Nice and caring hotel staff. Kids friendly hotel: baby cot, baby chair and swimming inflatable stuff were provided. Clean and nicely designed room. Good quality and tasty food at the hotel restaurant. Hotel beach and swimming pool area are also nice and comfortable, with sun beds and beach towels.

Great place on the beach in Nilaveli. The stuff mainly at the reception is great, very kind to help you with anything. Food perfect, pool perfect, location perfect. Nothing to complain about. Definitely reccomend this place.

Excellent hospitality received from Cardamon hotel- Nilaveli. I was offered personalized service for everything from room to food. My only worries that I could spend for only one night which is not enough to experience the total value of this nice hotel. Keep it up Cardamon Nilaveli Hotel.

Exceeded expectations with the best value for the money

The staff was super friendly and the room was clean and comfortable, we love it!!! The location was perfect, right on the beach, and food were great. I had a fantastic stay at the beachside hotel! we will def come back!!!

We loved the property but i think it is important to point out that it is a located in a very quiet zone and although you have a couple options of restaurants, everything else will require you to move around with tuk tuk. In our case we liked it this way.

Checking - hassle-free and no drama. Food - Ok but the potion was too small. Beach access: Good 👍🏽

Rooms - Rooms were considerably large and had all the essential furniture. The rooms were not so clean, and soms of the furniture was covered with dust. The bed was comfortable, but an initial set of bedsheets had some marks, so we asked them to change it. Staff: OK, but could do better. We asked the staff to arrange a table on the beach, and we got surprised with the feedback we got. They just pointed to a table and asked us to take it to the beach ourselves if we wanted. Restaurant: We went to the restaurant around 8.30 pm to order some food for dinner, and they said they only have noodles. The food was good 👍🏽 but the potion was small. We talked to the staff, and they said they are temporary staff and only work when they have few guests. Pool: Not clean at all. If you care about hygiene, you will avoid it for sure. Even in the daytime, you cannot see the bottom of the pool. Walls have allergies. Room AC: Not powerful enough to keep the room at a reasonable temperature. AC get switched off in the middle of the night. Remote buttons are labelled in Mandarin. Electricity: These days, Sri Lanka has 2.5-hour-long power cuts due to the government's inability to provide electricity 24/7. Therefore expect 2.5 hour-long power cuts as the hotel does not have power generators. It was one of the worst experiences we had as the room got extremely hot during the power cuts. No emergency floodlights in the room, and even the one in the corridor does not work. So it's pitched dark! Hotel staff switch off lights around 10.00 pm, and if you want to go out of the room, you will have to use your torches. Water Pressure: No Power, No water. Simple as that. So no water for 2.5 hours. Plus no hot water.

Spacious room with good facilities and the shower was great. The view of the pool and sea was excellent and staff were friendly too. Also there's a nice seating area with books that you can read.

We stay one week and enjoyed so much. The situation, just i front of the sea, its amazing. Good value of money. The staff its so kind and the food it's also tasty and good price. I recommend stay here.

The library on the hall could bé more clean and organized, its a pity.

If you’re looking for a beach hotel this is definitely worth taking a trip to. We spent the day in the beach, the waters were very calm.

The hotel was a bit run down, could do with some refurbishment. The pool was not as clean as I would’ve like it to be.

location is right on the beach with easy access to Pigeon Island. Nilaveli is quite sleepy. Rooms are lovely and spacious and bed super comfortable.

dining room was a bit impersonal and could do with a bit of atmosphere, especially the lighting.

The location is perfect with a kind of private beach, rooms are very big and beds super comfortable. Pool and garden is very nice. This hotel could be a resort, however we have paid much more less in SL and received better services. Having said this I have to be honest and tell that this hotel is in need of lots of maintenance.

Walking around you will find rusty stairs banisters, bins etc and a dusty lobby and an abandoned dark bar. In the room you will find some mould marks on the ceiling plus in the bathroom ceiling and very rusty taps/shower head. In the evening we went to the bar and asked if they serve breakfast, we have been told breakfast was from 8/10 am , they showed us a menu and told that it was 1200 rp per person, we told them that we will be there in the morning. Next morning we came for it at 09:15 am to be told that they were running out of all items ( eggs, tea, bread and fruit? , the hotel was very empty) so we ended up having an amazing breakfast next door for the same price.
