Hotel Goldener Adler, BW Signature Collection

Great location.

The mattress (in a single room) had a problem. This should have already been fixed, but they changed my room without any issue.

Location is great in the heart of the Alstadt. The room is good size by European standards; big enough for a couple. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived in a rental car. The drop off area is a short walk to the hotel. Parking can be tricky. I had to drive to a second parking location as the one the Hotel recommended was full. The good news is that the hotel did have a discount program with both parking places. The staff gave me excellent directions how to use the parking tickets to get the discount and it worked out well.

It would be nice if we could park closer, but the reality is that the hotel entrance is in a pedestrian only area so there is not another option. Small sacrifice to be in such a great location.

There are no cover sheets. There is only a heavy doona which it totally wrong for this time of year. There is no aircon, not even a fan. Window cannot be opened to let some cool air in during the night. Curtains cannot be closed properly during the day. As a result, the room was very hot the whole time I was there, day and night. I simply could get a good nights sleep. To make it worse, there is no fridge in the room meaning that I couldn't even have a cold drink. I wouldn't recommend this hotel in summer months. It might be ok during cooler months.
