OREA Resort Horizont Šumava

The food was great. A lot of different choices also vegan and gluten free food was available. The made every evening fresh pizza which tasted really good. Also again the varity to chose was great.

The only thing which was not good is, that if you don't have children, they offered a special part of the restaurant (5% of the table space) for people without children but this was ignored by a lot of parents. There was also a sign saying only for people without children (quiet space). A lot of parents and families with small children were filing those tables reservered for people not wanting to be close to children (sounds bad but that is the truth). And nobody from the staff said anything. There was a lot of space in the children section of the restaurant so no need to sit in this place (95% of the table were for families). So I think the site staff should act and tell people not to sit in this place.

We were amazed by this hotel, its very good located, with a lot of attractions for kids; outside play ground is small but interesting for kids; alpacas took a lot of attention from the little one; the pools and separation of the pool for the little kids - it was great, i’ve never seen such a great pool for the small kids; there were a lot of additional activities for kids but as we don’t speak Czech we were not participating; food was great, lot of selections and u can make sandwiches for the road; lot of parking spaces; the whole hotel is renovated;

There was no ac in our room and we were there during heat-weave so it was quite hot in the room; Additionally, it was easier to talk to the staff in German than in English - but it is not a deal breaker just be prepared.

The Sumava National Park is a great place, and the hotel is well located. We have been upgraded so our room was big and very nice. Generally, the food abundance and services are good. The hotel does everything right and tries hard.

It is a 'kids focused' hotel so if you do not like noise and confusion you are in for a surprise. The hotel does everything to cater also for adults (the spa area is even being upgraded) but it is impossible to have the best of both words. If you are travelling with kids, the entertainment program is just great with activities always going on. For that purpose, the rating would be higher
