Gasthof Und Hotel Maria Gern

I absolutely love the staff. They were so amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily, once before I even finished breakfast. It is located a reasonable hike to Berchtesgaden, but there is also a bus service as long as you don’t need to return later than late afternoon on the weekend. I can fully recommend this hotel for its services, location, staff, and price.

I can think of nothing I did not like

Fantastic little hotel. Staff were great, food excellent and the room wonderful. Balcony view over the mountains. Comfy bed in a room with lots of space.

Only problem was not hotel related. Unfortunately Maria Gern is a little of the beaten track. You need your own transport. Local bus only runs once per hour and ends at 1800.

Spectacular location. Clean, updated Gasthof.

This hotel is in a beautiful location. It has a restaurant connected that is open some days serving traditional German fare. Some nights you can find lovely traditional music. The breakfast each morning is very nice if you get there early enough.

The hotel public areas were really messy and cluttered. The beds are very uncomfortable. There was no hand soap or toiletries in the rooms. Check in and check out was totally done without seeing any people. I understand issues with Corona but there was no way for non German speakers to get any help with issues. The restaurant didn’t have those issues.
