The room was fantastic, as were both the kaiseki ryouri dinner, and breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful, and even polished our shoes. The public bath was lovely, very enjoyable.

Very close to subway station and large spacious rooms.

Staying at a Ryokan is a must do experience when you visit Japan, and doing it in Kyoto feels just right! The staff was terrific, friendly, and attentive. The kaiseki dinner was superb! Such a wonderful meal served in your room and then having the room set up for sleeping was a new experience. The baths were super clean and relaxing. The traditional breakfast was quite a meal, certainly very different for western tradition. When you checkout you get a few little presents to keep, including chopsticks and a toiletries bag.
Overall our experience was great.
