Calm and very nice location. Staff helped send 3 Bags onwards to next hotel. Easy and swift, communication was good and the services provided were more personal than any other stay in Japan. A lovely old school Ryokan

I really liked the room and the onsen-style bathroom—truly relaxing and beneficial. The location is perfect, and the room was very spacious and beautiful.

I didn't like the fact that an extra fee is charged at check-in (which doesn't show up on Booking.com)... also, the hot water in the bathroom takes 10 minutes to half an hour to start working... I suggest fixing that... otherwise, we had a very good experience.

I liked the welcome with my name and shoes. The place felt very traditional. The onsen was adequate.

The shoes were too big to safely go up and down 3 flights of stairs. Barefoot it was!

The bed was the most comfortable of my hotels in Japan and the room was spacious.

The onsen was small and did not have much in the way of amenities. My room was on the third floor and there was no passenger elevator. The included soup and bread turned out to be convenience store packaged bread and an instant soup packet.
