In a hostel, you're self-catering, and that's the whole idea. But when you want to treat yourself, you can go to the café attached to the pax for an absolutely delicious sandwich every day, enjoy cold drinks, and have the best oat milk cappuccino <3 The location was great! Just a few steps away, you're right in the Shinsekai district, surrounded by vibrant, neon-lit streets full of food spots and entertainment shops. The staff is friendly, open, and super helpful. I had so many wonderful interactions. It's perfect for solo travelers looking to meet diverse people. I used The Pax as my base at both the start and end of my trip, which turned out to be the absolute best choice. I felt totally at home and wish I could have stayed longer!

The Pax Hostel was my first destination in Japan, and the ambience and the staff made me feel just like home. Thank you so much, I will be back for sure! :)

Great social hostel ontop of cafe/record store. The design is urban and wooden. Top floor has a common bathroom and a small kitchen/table area next to 2 rooms with 2 bunk beds each. Second floor has a larger capsule like area with 12 beds. Very social, there was dinner parties and other social activities. Met nice people and big årops to the cool Malaysian girl that took care of all the social stuff. Even the personal participated in the dinners and you got to know them better. Overall great place to just meet nice chill traveling people. Not party hostel, but deffo an amazing social hostel.

You have to be able the handle the smell of ”oldness”. Since its an old wooden building, and there is a lot of stairs.

Location is good , bds and room is nice

The stairs, if u have multiple bags it’s very difficult because the corridor to go up is very narrow
