Mandello is a great location for a family trip. There is a small beach, but it's close to another nicer beach (riva bianca) and it's also close to Varenna, a beautiful town from where you can visit Bellagio, Menaggio and all other main locations in Centro Lago. The house is spacious, has a large living room and a beautiful view over the lake. There are a bathroom and a toilet, which is handy. There is a private parking which is sheltered and fits 2 cars which is also helpful. Everything was clean.

The house's furniture and appliances are much older than what it looks in the picture. We were a bit shocked when we entered the house - it looks like the house was just abandoned by an old grandpa. There is plenty of old stuff (books, cables..) around that could be removed or substituted. The mattress of the main bedroom is quite old and a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen equipment is also quite old ( although Everything works), e.g. some pans were scratched. It was very unpleasant to discover that some stuff listed among the house facilities was not there, like the dishwasher and the drying rack. I am not sure if the money we paid matched the value of the house, although the house was comfortable and the view and location were great!
