A highly recommended hotel, beautiful, and it really surprised us.

This place is amazing! Extremely clean and beautiful property. Very authentic and traditional experience. Not much English on signs and instructions, which made it a great experience. Onsen is wonderful, and very hot! Slippers and robes when you arrive. Definitely stay here if you’re in the area.

There is nothing negative to say. With all the private baths (and one was always available), it was the best hotel my husband and I have ever stayed in. It was the highlight of our Japan trip. Location literally steps away from the train station, so no dragging luggage around. And a 5-10 min walk to main street with all the shops and restaurants, monkey park and bamboo forest. If you are visiting Kyoto and like beautiful nature and tranquility, you'll want to stay here and take the 20 min train into Kyoto city, rather than the opposite.

A relaxing and serene hotel in a beautiful setting! The private baths were fantastic. The restaurant had little private dining rooms. Don’t forget to take a walk down to the river and over the bridge to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. So happy I booked this place - an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Kyoto!
