Bed was comfy and customer service was quick to respond (though I wish I didn't have to message them so much). Washing machine was good, though no washing powder was provided.
The location is excellent, it's just a shame the apartment isn't!
This apartment has a COCKROACH INFESTATION in the kitchen. After mentioning this to the owners, their only offer was a can of insecticide (making the problem ours to deal with). This meant the kitchen was unhygienic and the property could not be used as advertised. Despite this, customer service described the property as being "in perfect condition".
Halfway into our stay, THE AIR CONDITIONING BROKE, and the owners said they could not replace it before the end of our stay, despite us having 5 more nights at the property. We had to sleep in 25°C+ temperature in the height of Brazilian summer, which ruined our holiday as we were always tired and never had anywhere to shelter from the heat during the day.
On our last night the light and ceiling fan over the bed both broke. They had been failing intermittently the whole stay (light came on randomly in the night). This added insult to injury after having 5 days without A/C.
The kitchen was under-equipped; there as only 1 bowl which was a salad bowl, no can opener, no scissors, and only 1 wine glass. The air fryer, pots and pans, blender and water jug were all dirty when we arrived. The sink in the kitchen does not have a hot water supply, so dishes cannot be properly cleaned. This plus the cockroaches made the kitchen miserable and difficult to use. The floor throughout the apartment was very dirty and not helped by the fact that the apartment does not have a vacuum cleaner or dust pan and brush, despite being a tiled floor...
The bathroom sink and shower did not drain properly which made the room smell and attract small flies (the window is jammed open so you cannot close it). Any towels left in the bathroom would smell strange.
This apartment is old and dirty, and sorely needs renovating to be functional. For all these problems we were given a 12% refund, which while welcome was not enough.
