We had an absolutely amazing stay at Riverside Machiya! This was hands down the best accommodation we stayed in during our entire trip to Japan, and all six of us agreed on how incredible it was. The house was beautiful, with a truly traditional Japanese atmosphere that made our stay in Kyoto even more special. It was the perfect place to experience the charm of a traditional Japanese home while still having everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was also fantastic, close to everything we wanted to see and do in Kyoto, making it easy to explore the city and enjoy everything it has to offer. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend Riverside Machiya to anyone visiting Kyoto, especially for groups looking for an authentic Japanese experience. Good location, but kyoto station is 20 mins walking if you plan to go to more central areas this is the station you'll most likely be going to

The hot tub is not as big as we thought, its more like a bath tub so if you were planning to soak with your party you won't. Only one person can fit in there, so if you really want a hot tub & this influences your decision I would choose a different property. If you're over 6ft tall you will struggle to fit in there.
