Just a few kilometers from the city, you can visit the Cavagrande lakes, ancient Avola, the city of Noto (famous for its Baroque architecture and the May flower festival), and the southeastern coastal area of Sicily (the Vendicari and Calamosche nature reserves, the village of Marzamemi, and the southernmost tip of Capo Passero di Portopalo).
