Good access to Skytree shopping mall and Asakusa!
Convenienct location for tourists!
A 70 year old traditional Japanese townhouse located in well known downtown, Mukojima, Tokyo. The house belongs to my husband who spent his childhood there. We are university professors, and the house was too small for us to live with our three children and lots of books, so we have never lived there. After 30 years, I found it quite cool as it looked remaining very nostalgic, which brought me back to the nice and old days of Japan. Now it is very rare to find this kind in Tokyo.
The house was renovated nicely with its original taste. There are two bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other with two singles. The bedrooms on the second floor are floored with tatami mats. There are small but cozy living space and a kitchenette in the first floor. Bathroom with a bathtub and shower head. You will find the 'washlet' in WC.
Since the house was built right after WWII, everything is made small according to the Japanese people's frame at that time. If you are way taller than 6 feet, you may find it a bit close and uneasy.

This was a very charming property. Though small it was well appointed and felt as though it welcomed us to Japan. The host was arguably the best part of the experience. We were given restaurant recommendations, sight seeing tips, and provided insight on how to respectfully approach the temple that is right next door.

A wonderful cozy traditional Japanese home. It’s next to a beautiful shrine and a quiet neighborhood. We felt like locals and easy access to the train station to get anywhere in the city. Excellent communication for check in and out. We arrived at night in the rain so it was a little difficult to figure out the entrance but a neighbor helped us out and it was no problem. I would definitely recommend staying if you’re looking for an authentic stay in Tokyo.

If you want a little more room than a typical Tokyo hotel, this is a great place to stay. It has 2 bedrooms. You get to learn more about post WWII life here too. It is next to Family Mart and a shrine. It is a little noisy from proximity to a busy street, but it was worth it for us.The hosts were very helpful with recommendations on things to see and places to eat. They also helped us with train schedules and how to get around Tokyo.Heater/air conditioner worked well and we were very comfortable here. Laundry in house available but we didn’t use it. Shower was great with high water pressure. The rooms were extremely clean.
