On the day of my arrival, the host contacted me and informed me that the apartment I had originally booked was suddenly unavailable due to “unexpected circumstances.” I was offered a replacement and received photos via WhatsApp. The photos looked clean and acceptable, so, given the late notice and lack of practical alternatives. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different from what was presented in the photos. The replacement apartment was in an unacceptable condition: extremely dirty, dusty and poorly maintained, with mold, broken kitchen elements, missing basic utensils, and problematic/insecure cable arrangements. Overall, I found the accommodation unlivable and completely unsuitable for a comfortable stay. What made the experience even worse was the lack of communication afterward. I called the host several times to report the problems and ask for assistance, but my calls were not answered and I received no meaningful follow-up. The biggest concern for me is not simply that there were maintenance or cleanliness problems, but that I was moved from the accommodation I had booked to a different property at the last minute, based on photos that did not reflect the actual condition of the replacement. I am sharing this review so that other travelers can make an informed decision and carefully verify exactly which property they will be staying in before arrival.
The accommodation I booked and the accommodation I actually received were two very different experiences.
